'I don't care what he says': Keary's bemused response to Seibold's criticism

By The Roar / Editor

Sydney Roosters playmaker Luke Keary has fired back at Brisbane Broncos coach Anthony Seibold over criticism of his game.

Seibold had been attempting to defend his club captain Darius Boyd, who has been a regular focus for commentators and fans this year.

After Boyd was again criticised for making just two metres in the win over the Cowboys, Seibold suggested there onlookers had double-standards, pointing to Keary’s performance in the Roosters’ victory over the Raiders.

“Darius, for whatever reason, seems to be an easy target,” Seibold said.

“I had a look through the competition from last weekend. There’s an Australian number six playing for a team in Sydney who only made four metres last week and missed five tackles and not one thing was said in the media about that.

“His team won and our team won but for whatever reason because Darius only had one run, he’s been crucified all week from what I understand.”

And speaking to reporters ahead of the Roosters’ Round 22 clash with the Warriors, Keary couldn’t hide his bemusement at having been brought into the discussion.

If Boyd can't shine on the back of that forward pack dominating in Brisbane I'm not sure what Seibold is hoping for come finals time out of town.

The other day Seibold said "we're not looking at the competition ladder". Wonder why. Hopefully Panthers & Souths will knock them off & then nobody will worry about his worthless opinions. He is an "L" Plate coach full of excuses & destined for the same fate as Henjak & Griffin. He'd obviously rather have Boyd than Keary at No. 6. Comedian.

When I watched it, I was under the impression Seibold was having a crack at the Sydney centric rugby league media, not specifically Luke Keary. Bit the same with Bellamy biting back at South's Richardson commenting that the way the Storm play isn't in the spirit of the game, neither is serial eye gouging but he defended his club player.

Ironically he will probably rattle off all the stats that say his team were great even though they got thumped by 30 points - like he did earlier this year when Souths beat the Bronocs.

Good on LK for not getting involved with the nonsense of Seibold's excuses and criticism. All I can say is 'we dodged a bullet there with Seibold' and I wonder what he will say when the Bunnies thrash the Broncs next lol

The more I listen to Seibold this year the more im convinced that the Broncos have made a huge mistake.
