No one stops play despite Sea Eagles forward getting knocked into next week

By The Roar / Editor

Sean Keppie was clearly dazed and staggering after an awkward tackle with play allowed to continue, raising the question: have officials become too nervous to stop play after the Mitch Kenny controversy?

Trouble with your story is that Klien was in the middle of the field and saw Keppie stumbling about.

The ref was at the other side of the field doing a reffing job as a try was about to be made. What do you want him to do, stop the game after every tackle while he checks if the man on the ground is OK ? The media are critical of Klien for not stopping the game and they would have blown up big time for denying Souths a try if he had.

I don't know where he was but the ref was already on the spot and had a duty to stop the game. It's a safety issue and it was obvious the ref had to act. Are you saying the ref can't stop the game if a player is injured? I doubt that is true.

Where was the orange man? He's the one that can stop the game, as that was his job when they do there jobs properly, not like that Panthers guy that abused it , can't have it both away.

The ref couldn't miss the fact that Keppie was stumbling about and fell near the ruck. Very poor refereeing, no effect on the game ultimately but a poor effort. You can't pretend otherwise.

The media tried to get Des Hasler to bite here, and he didn't.

Gee give the refs a break. All eyes will have been on the fast moving and complex play near the try line not scanning back play to see if a player looked Groggy. You media guys must be sitting there looking for the slightest ref slip to blow up about. Well news for ya, there is nothing to see here.
