The Hurricanes will look to main their crucial top-two spot on the Super Rugby Trans-Tasman ladder when they take on the Western Force. Stay up to date with their clash on The Roar with live scores from 5:05pm (AEST).

In a tournament where bonus points look to be crucial, the Hurricanes have done themselves huge favours with a bonus point in each of their wins so far. They piled 64 points on the Waratahs in a Round 1 scoring bonanza, before stifling the Rebels in am impressive display last week to prevail 35-13.

Despite finishing third, the Western Force have looked the most likely of any Australian side to break through for a win in Trans-Tasman. They collected a bonus point in their heartbreaking 20-19 loss to the Chiefs first up, before pushing the Highlanders all the way in a 25-15 defeat last week.

Not really, I mean I am a Crusaders fan so the Reds are doing us a favor, and even though the Chiefs are technically Pig Islanders I still prefer them over the Reds...

Absolutely it’s dismissive. People here looking at a one dimension view of a rugby match through a tv screen and then jumping to the conclusion that all tthe he NZ referees are poor, or worse like Nic Bishop stating they deliberately cheat, are hiding from the truth about how poor the rugby is here. Highlander got it bang on in his article. The press and ex players who railed against the number of penalties being given and this then making RA force the referees to ignore WR directives has allowed the players here to play a poor low skilled game and now they are up against faster players who react quicker to changing situations and it’s all the referees fault. Sorry unmitigated crap

Spot on. We deserve better, but will continue to support our team. There is nothing to gain from a knee jerk reaction like sacking the coach.

Absolute crap. The referees are following the guidelines put out by WR and Australian p[l;ayers are too slow to adapt. If people think that this tournament is about kiwi referees then they are kidding themselves and hiding from the truth

Even English folks said sh reffering is poor quality especially NZ, commenting on that game. I don't care about kiwis winning. Don't you get it that winning and bad refering can be completely separate issues? Kiwis are good at rugby no one doubts it, but their refferees are bad

I do hope your tongue is firmly in your guru’s cheek. I found Soapit’s clear, reasoned analysis of where Queensland’s defence failed (as opposed to the usual “Oh god, weren’t the Reds awful”) very helpful. And I enjoyed the humour, which he declared in advance.

Nah he is as well as you're. And getting defensive only proves that. I see you're trying to make it about Kiwis vs Aussies, winnig and losing, for me it's really about frameworks becoming too different. Aussie reffering is more traditional while kiwis got carried away playing by themselves . At this point Kiwis don't even need to cheat to win against Aussie teams but they still do cause it's habitual, because that's how they played in their own comp. Of course they(you) don't consider it cheating and feel offended cause it's normalised. I don't care about kiwi winning but I don't want them to turn rugby into NRL or NFL or some other code with their disregard for the laws

given the Force were stripped of players in 2017, I don't think there was much choice? And with many of the up and coming players from the 2019 NRC winning team signing up with the Super teams, doesn't leave much to build on.
