It’s been a rough start to the season for both the New South Wales clubs. After missing Round 1 due to the Shute Shield final, they make up that game here.
The Rays have so far been hammered by the Canberra Vikings, and had defensive lapse after defensive lapse against Brisbane City as they went down 61-40.
While that was bad, it wasn’t quite as awful as being beaten by the Melbourne Rising 62-7 at home, which was the fate the Country Eagles suffered last week. Given they lost their first game against the Western Force as well, it’s been an awful start to the season.

Suspect he was rested. The weekend was his first rugby in 12 months. Best to let him recover, rather than get him to push it again midweek.

3 soft runs against terrible defence does not a great halfback make. Knowing when not to kick and when to keep your eyes on the ball however, does!
