A video of a teenager booting an astounding 80-metre penalty goal has gone viral, with efforts underway to track down the unknown young sensation.
The boy, assumed to be South African, slotting one of the longest kicks ever seen – much to the disbelief of his teammates.
The guy is from Shimlas, the Freestate university. It is 1400 meters above sea level, the highest average windspeeds in Bloemfontein are 10 mph

I’m not surprised with that Wellington had a strong wind haha. And yea. Altitude and wind help, but still need the boot to do it. Not many players would make that kick, and with the accuracy too, it is a massive effort.

I remember a box kick with aid of the wind by Jon Preston on his own goal line in Wellington that managed to roll dead in the opposite goal zone, and brought back for a 5m scrum! I agree that wind speed and direction, plus the altitude, are important to gauge how impressive the length of a kick is, but regardless, great hoof on that player.

Massive kick. Do we know the altitude and how strong as the wind? He has someone holding the ball, so must have been hard. Still, a massive kick and one to be proud of.
