Brumbies coach Dan McKellar has called on fans to show their support for his side after the 22-10 victory over the Bulls.
Just 6311 spectators visited Canberra Stadium to watch the Australian conference-leading Brumbies and their fifth win from their last six matches.
McKellar says the situation “will be dire” unless the Brumbies can start to produce bigger crowds again.
The comments come just days after McKellar called on Rugby Australia to try and bring at least part of live Super Rugby back to free-to-air television.

Well, I'm glad that comment's finished.

Agreed, I think they other teams should take a lead out of the Tahs book too, with the games in Parramatta. The Brumbies could play a few games around different towns in Southern NSW, I reckon it would go well.

Sorry, I would not of noticed ? I like watching the ‘Greenmachine’ better, as they’ve try an Entertain? They are on a bit of Downward projective, but not as bad SuperRugby. Thank God. No wonder nobody’s turning up. It’s like Chinese Torture? Sorry that’s like watching the Farce in the Asian Tiddlywinks comp??

I believe that the Australian super Rugby franchises should return to a baseline and consider looking at smaller venues within their states, which will create atmosphere within the match experience. Hopfully build up a bigger supporter base then look to return to the bigger venues once an attractive scene is achieved.English and French rugby professional clubs home grounds have atmosphere and this brings the crowd into the game and makes good viewing on foxtel Australia.

The acoustics at AAMI stadium must be pretty good, last weeks game Rebs / Bulls. On the TV screen it appeared wives, girlfriends, officials and a couple of dozen fans but the noise effects had the crowd better than 1000. Must be bloody difficult to stay in business with such meagre following.

6300 people is worse than dire. Serious issues with Super Rugby all over the country, but this is especially terrible given the Brumbies are actually playing well
