The Brisbane Roar can secure a home final with a win when they host Sydney FC to wrap up their home-and-away campaign. Follow along with live scores on The Roar from 3:05pm (AEST).

Both these sides have secured their finals spots, and on current form, seeing them lock horns again this season is far from out of the question.

Three wins in their past four, including a stirring 3-0 triumph over premiers Melbourne City, has seen the Roar climb to third on the ladder. However, with the Mariners and Macarthur FC lurking just one point below, anything short of a win here will leave them vulnerable to falling as low as fifth.

As for the Sky Blues, they’re stuck four points ahead of the third-placed Roar, and four behind ladder-leaders Melbourne City. Either way, they’re heading into the finals in second. But flirting with your form is a dangerous business, and having won four on the trot, the latest a commanding 4-1 win over another finalist in Adelaide United, the reigning champions will be hard to topple.

I agree jb and I think age comes into it as both Hingert and Brown are in their 30's and both have had their share of injuries.

Chopper - Thanks for the info .I too was impressed with the boy's attitude and as you say it could be that the position of wingback requires someone with just a touch of recklessness in their make up, something I don't feel either Hingert or Brown have in their game make-up and they are probably too set in their ways to change now, such is the changing face of tactical football. Thanks again. cheers jb.

lionheart - Thanks for your reply and all your tips re.how to beat the crush but I don't think I will try to repeat my day out again. A long long time ago I decided that when I watched big games I would get as high up the central stand as I could so that a better view of the players, their positioning, use of space, and use of the ball was much easier to follow and I find tv does that job for me, so it's back to the box. Wish you all the best for the finals series ,I will be watching Cheers jb.

ah JB, Dolphins seating capacity exceeds rush hour demands. My experience, a pleasant lunch at Scarborough on the waterfront, park in the Leagues club carpark, no queue around 1.45 in time for the second half of the Legends game to see the NPL legends put in two against Steffanuto and Smith. Can I suggest next time you park in the Leagues Club or in Coles carpark outside Gate 1, lunch or coffee in the cafe there and wander across to the game. (PS don't blame me if you cop a parking fine) That young lad is Antonee Burke-Gilroy. He's had a few minutes before, arrived mid-season but coached previously by Moon as a schoolboy. As much as you have to admire Sydney's strike power, the youngsters did well, and will be better next year and beyond.

Good to see you getting out and about jb. The right fullback you referred to was Antonee Burke-Gilroy (although on his shirt he just has Burke). The lad was brought in from the Victorian NPL a few weeks back and as you say he soon fitted in to the role. Given a few more games I think Hingert may find himself on the outer.

Lionheart - Took your advise and ventured forth to Redcliffe today. Left home at 1.30pm,got to the ground, walked miles and finally got to my seat at 3.10pm. Got home at 6.50pm. Did I enjoy the experience? -No Did I enjoy the -football and the game ? Yes You remember we had a discussion last week about picking what we thought would be Roar's best eleven. Imagine my surprise when I found almost all of "my team" finished on the field after half time. With work horses Daley and Parsons on from the start the pressure was immediately taken off O'Shea and Danzaki and when after the break we got Brindell South moved to his favoured left side of the field we suddenly started to see the balance that you and I have discussed. The Sydney defence was reduced to panic clearances as wave after wave of attacks, from both right and left sides thundered down at them. Then as I've said to you before, the questions!!!!!!, The two players giving Sydney defence nightmares, Parsons and DWH were substituted with 10minutes to go and down at the touchline where I was sitting you could see the relief on the Sydney defenders faces. It was only in those dying minutes that Sydney once again looked a team and got their totally undeserved goal. One thing is for sure ,if Moon decides to go with that same team in the finals I know one team that will not really want to meet them in that mood again. Cheers jb. ps didn't catch the name of the replacement for Brindell-South on the right flank, but was impressed as to how he soon fitted into the role of wing back .jb

Love to watch this Roar side. Even with the late subs, some fabulous talent in the squad. Youth team of last season keeping out seasoned pros. A joy to watch. We just need a decent striker. The crowd is right behind these boys, and Moonie's the most popular coach since Ange.
