Perth Glory welcome Melbourne City to nib Stadium on Saturday evening in Round 7 of the 2018/19 A-League season. Join The Roar for live coverage from 10pm (AEDT).

After six rounds of Hyundai A-League football these two sides have shaken off the pre-season rust and are running like slick, well-oiled machines.

Melbourne City were certainly firing on all cylinders last time out with an impressive home victory over Newcastle Jets.

And despite not being at their best, Perth picked up a valuable point in Wellington last weekend and maintained their unbeaten start to the season.

Chris Harold returns to the Glory squad and fans favorite Diego Castro looks set for a starting place following his goal off the bench against the Nix last week.

City will be without Michael O’ Halloran due to a hamstring injury but Manchester City loanee Luke Brattan could make his 150th A-League appearance.

Prediction
This is a big game for two clubs with high ambitions this season. I don’t expect either side to hold back here and with the quality that both sides possess in attack, we could be in for an early Christmas cracker under the Saturday night lights.

Perth Glory 2 – 2 Melbourne City

Not sure why the media keep saying Glory go "back to top spot", when they were already there. Some ladder shuffling around before they even step foot on the pitch barely counts. ☺

At this stage you have to say that, but SFC likes a challenge, don't write of the premiers (twice) just yet.

It wasn't vintage stuff but a first half Chris Ikonomidis strike sends Perth Glory back to the summit. The second half was a bit of a slog for the home side but they worked hard and defended resolutely. Melbourne probably didn't offer enough going forward. They have been unfortunate with injuries and the late, debatable red card, didn't help their cause. Still, Perth have done what they needed to do and fought off a tough challenge from Melbourne City and got the win. The Glory fans are in full voice as the stadium empties. They will enjoy their Saturday night. Next up for Melbourne City a home tie with Adelaide United next Sunday. Perth visit Newcastle Jets earlier that day. That is it from nib Stadium. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Wooooooooooo Hooooooooooooo. Top of the table once again. I gotta say, it looks like this year's title will be fought out between the Victory and the Glory.

90+3 Last minute of the added time and Melbourne need to pump the ball forward but they can't keep the ball. Glory have done it, the whistle goes and signals another home win for Perth.

90' Interesting looking free kick for City left edge of the Perth box. It is well struck but Liam Reddy punches it away from danger to the great relief of the Glory fans here at nib.

89' Last knockings of a tight game and Melbourne have a corner... which they fail to make the most of. Can Perth Glory hold on for three minutes of stoppage time? Perth Glory 1- 0 Melbourne City FC

83' Andy Keogh races through on goal but decides to go for a cut back instead of shooting. The shot looked the better option in that instance and he has had a few of those nearly moments tonight. Chianese is on for Castro. Perth Glory 1- 0 Melbourne City FC

80' It was a second yellow for Good. A late sliding tackle on Franjic means he is taking an early bath. Maybe a little harsh.
