It’s a grand final rematch in Perth as the Glory try to exact revenge against the defending champions Sydney FC.
Glory have made a slow start to the season, with just the one victory from their opening five games. Last season’s premiers sat sixth on the ladder heading into this round of fixtures.
Tony Popovic’s side are also winless in their last three home games. The last time they went longer without a win in WA was a five-game stretch in 2015.
In contrast, Sydney FC have been in good form and moved into second spot on the ladder following their 2-1 win over Melbourne Victory last weekend.
The Sky Blues have a brilliant recent record against Perth Glory winning 11 of their last 12 A-League games.
Sydney coach Steve Corica believes the challenge of facing Perth brings out the best in his players.
“Obviously they are a good side and that’s why I think we play well over there, because everyone is focused,” he said.
“It’s a good thing going into the game knowing that you’ve won so many games over there and only lost one or two, but each game is different, you have to go in with the right attitude.”
Glory captain Diego Castro insists his side will use this crunch match to showcase their fighting spirit and climb back up the table.
“When you have a look at the ladder it’s not the best scenario for us,” he said.
“We are not happy to be in sixth position, especially with what happened last year and the success we had.
“We want to fight for this important game, to recover the confidence, to be there with the best.”

Glory defender Osama Malik will miss a second straight game, while fellow centre back Alex Grant is suspended. Kristian Popovic returns from international duty.
Sydney left-back Michael Zullo is pushing for his first start of the season following a foot injury.
Prediction
Glory have had two weeks to prepare for this match after a bye last weekend.
Tony Popovic will expect a reaction from his players following the shock 2-1 loss to Central Coast in their last game at HBF Park.
