AS IT HAPPENED: Socceroos hit five past Lebanon in World Cup qualifier

By Stuart Thomas / Expert

The Socceroos continue their march to the 2026 FIFA World Cup as they face the Lebanon for the second time in six days. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 7:45pm (AEDT).

Prediction

While the Socceroos didn’t have everything their own way at CommBank Stadium last Thursday, the quality in the squad should see them chalk up another win tonight.

Expect a little more fluency in their game and a solid win in front of a record crowd in Canberra.

Australia 4, Lebanon 1

Eds…the title of the article…We do not ” hit” goals surely? Baseballers hit home runs, cricketers hit boundaries, Golfers hit great putts. Boxers hit their opponents Footballers “score” goals.

Never mind the Tabbies, come to the Strikers. __ There’s some pretty good Banh Mi just across the road from Perry Park.

Thank you – pleased that Nisbet pleased you! He looked good out there and so did Yazbeck. Iredale looks promising too and he’s quite young. And my phone battery made it.

Dunno. I did make an effort to try and figure out who was who for Lebanon, but information was scarce (judging by broader media coverage, I may not have been the only one a bit confused).

How does Craig Goodwin only have 25 caps? Hopefully he can play to age 40.
