Happy for Ibisuki to stay in Adelaide, with Halloran and you han have Mileusnic back too he couldn’t hit a barn door from six yards. We will take Ibusuki only if he comes with his essential assist partner Clough! Don’t need any reds defenders either you have conceeded about as many goals as Brisbane this season so not a glowing endorsement!!

FA introduces key VAR change for A-Leagues finals

Was going to say exactly the same Grem. Didn’t seem too hard at the women’s world cup did it?

FA introduces key VAR change for A-Leagues finals

I would love to see a ref get a call to review VAR and wave it away and say ive made my decision and am happy with it.

FA introduces key VAR change for A-Leagues finals

If we could get away with a 338 formation in Brisbane next year Id be happy!

Wanderers' season ends, Nix stay alive in premiership race, Perth humiliated again

@Grem is that question for me? If so, I’m a another busted Brisbane supporter. The 338 is the section of the stand at Suncorp where we sat for years as members before the move to Redcliffe threw a spanner in the works. Who I’d like to see win the final is tough. MacArthur have been the suprise for me, i kept expecting they would fall away but they haven’t and thats a real credit to them that recent performance against Sydney was pure grit. CCM like everyone after 4 rounds I thought were gone but they have done so well and managing the AFC comp too. Great little club. Nix have also done exceptionally well also though not a huge fan of their style, I respect the decision to play that way and win. Sydney have also come back from the dead and Ufuk has them playing pretty well though i don’t take much out of the win over Perth.. some of the games the played with their suffocating press a month ago were really impressive. They still play best with Lolley and Mak on at the same time in my opinion they are both consistent and deadly given half a chance. Gomes was a bit of a disappointment for them i think. Victory have slightly underperformed all year I reckon, after the early rounds I thought they were going to run away with it but then they still managed to lose points by failing to score or conceding late. They are dangerous I think generally everywhere but need to click. City I’m ambivalent about. I think I expected them to be strong again but they seem to be really struggling to get it together which is great for the rest of the league. Big fan of Arslan’s work though. Overall i think id like to see the mariners win it. Recall fondly the days of battles between Brisbane and the Mariners, and the football both produced. Be good for a small club like them to win it again to show everyone else how to do it. But overall I love teams that play attacking football so whoever does that the most over the next few weeks I’ll be supporting along the way.

Bon voyage Mike. Im sure you’ll have mobile roaming so you can keep up with the A league results while you are in the stands!

I'm hitting pause on the A-League and going on the Euro football holiday I've always dreamed of

Thanks for another round up David. Its been an enjoyable season of thrills and spills and theres always something to talk about….even occasionally about on pitch performances! Really hard to pick who is going to prevail in the finals… If one of the teams had Taggart I’d be picking them…his conversion rate this year has been unbelievable, just a shame about the overall team performance. Obviously any team on their day can win it which is the great thing about the league…but who is going to be switched on and cranking it up for the finals?

Perf shoulda coulda woulda been more competitive if they hsd nailed some of their first half chances. Was a bit sad to see it end the way it did as a neutral.

Youd better thank that 1cm of crossbar that kept Waddos header out next time you are Suncorp Stuart.

I have a family outing and wondering if its too late to come down with something so i can stay home and watch 😛

The Roar's A-League Men tips and predictions: Round 26 - the jostle for finals positions is on in earnest

Re reports Adelaide defenders coming to Roar next season.. WHY?! Roar conceeded 55 goals this year. Adelaide conceeded 51 goals. The top 3 clubs all less than 30 goals conceeded. Probably just me but I think Brisbane should be looking for players that can…you know…..defend? Next it’ll be Perth defenders coming to Brisbane too! I don’t get it.

Happy to see Milusenic go back to Adelaide. Couldn’t hit a barn door….as evidenced again tonight. Halloran – meh. Not impressed to have him back. Ibusuki…as long as he comes with his assist man Clough otherwise he won’t score for Brisbane at anywhere near the rate he has for the Reds. Id prefer Taggart…. Lets get Taggart back!! Adelaide can keep Halloran…

Good summary – theres plenty to like about the on park stuff. Games are entertaining and there have been some great individual performances as you highlighted.

Just turned on the TV and was astonished to see an ad for Brisbane Roar FC!!

APL's spin doctoring insults Australian football fans' intelligence - and might well be the last straw

I was there in Spirit. 😛

I don’t watch alot of channel 10 as i het my A league through P+, but I do see ads on there from time to time and was even shocked on the weekend to see some coverage on the ABC morning news on sunday of the A league. They could all do better but agree 10 has the most skin in the game.

APL's spin doctoring insults Australian football fans' intelligence - and might well be the last straw

I think demanding respect is selling us a bit short. A thriving A League is essential for a professional pathway for all those kids who are training and playing in club football each week and have aspirations for a future in the game. By failing to deliver a flourishing A League the APL are putting the future opportunities for these players and the potential of the national teams in a cul-de-sac that will directly affect the FA’s program for the Socceroos and Matildas. In addition to respect would should be demanding some accountability, some transparency, some published targets and goals each season with associated strategies and funded programs to achieve them, we should also demand some regular and meaningful communication. Just a few extra demands to get the ball rolling. Basically my simple demand to the APL is ‘get your $h1t together’.

APL's spin doctoring insults Australian football fans' intelligence - and might well be the last straw

I see the Mediocre Refereeing Committee (MRC) has rescinded the red card issued to Vujica. Only took Joe Lolley as the fouled player and just about every one else involved in that game to criticise the decision on live TV to finally do something. I guess they should be acknowledged for overturning the decision. Begs the question Why not the Mak decision? Or the Patrick Wood decision? They were the other two shockers in recent memory. Maybe the Vujica decision was the straw that broke the camels back.

To be clear i wasn’t meaning people not going in terms of a protest, just people drifting away as a result of the lack of action or even some form of communication that efforts are being made to improve things.

It's time the APL came clean on the state of the game in the A-Leagues

Another weekend of intrigue on the field. I wonder if referees can decline to go and take a look at the replay screen when VAR suggest it.

Sydney can't get past nine-man Bulls, Wanderers on life support, Cahn departs

There’s always plenty to talk about. Its just getting tiring. The football on the park is great. The administration and VAR decision making framework is not. I’m not sure grassroots ‘supporters’ are even paying attention to the A league to notice these things Mike. You have to be watching the games to notice or be interested in the offfield shenanigans which hardly get scrutinised in the press anyway so we just quietly lurch from one stuff up to the next. Its a shame the administration is so terrible and theres really no way that they can be held to account other than people not going as a result which only damages the professional game further.
The failure of the Olyroos to score a single goal in three games….thats a whole other article.

It's time the APL came clean on the state of the game in the A-Leagues

More end to end stuff in the battle for the wooden spoon. Some horrible defending from both teams at times. Taggart unlucky not to get his hatrick, but climbs to the top of the golden boot with a game to go. Willow gets goal no 50 But Western united get the chocolates…4-3.
