Leeds came away 2-1 winners after a match that was close throughout. No major injuries, no big incidents. A solid hit out for both sides.
Mateusz Bogusz and Pablo Hernandez the scorers for Leeds, with Kwame Yeboah scoring for the Western Sydney Wanderers.
Leeds now head back home after their min tour of Australia to get their season underway in two weeks time.
Meanwhile for the Wanderers, their next competitive match will be against Perth Glory in the Round of 32 for The FFA Cup on August 7.
Final score
Western Sydney Wanderers 1
Leeds United 2
Western Sydney get to show off their shiny new Bankwest Stadium, as EFL Championship side Leeds United come to visit. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 7pm (AEST).
This is the first hit out for the Wanderers this pre-season, and a good chance for the new signings and emerging youth to impress manager Markus Babbel as he looks to shape his team ahead of the season.
Leeds meanwhile have already played in Australia this pre-season, with a 4-0 loss to Manchester United in Perth during the week.
There was a visible gulf in class between the two sides. Leeds did plow on and held on for much of the second half, but by then the result was already decided.
Leeds have brought a relatively small travelling squad, with just 15 players making the trip. 13 of those players featured against Manchester United, with only spare goalkeeper Kamil Miazek and young fullback Clarke Odour not getting a run.
Western Sydney have held on to some key players from last season, with some exciting new additions. Daniel Lopar, Radoslaw Majewski and Pirmin Schwegler are the foreign signings that have joined this offseason, with internationally capped Dylan McGowan and Daniel Georgievski also amongst the new faces.
Majewski – having spent 6 seasons with Nottingham Forest – has played against Leeds before. However, he had moved on from The Championship before Marcelo Bielsa took over at Leeds.
Wanderers fans may finally get a look at favourite Kosta Grozos in the first team after he spent a large chunk of last season in and out of the U21 team with injury.
In isolation, a Championship Leeds would be far better than an A-League Wanderers side, but can you really predict a pre-season friendly?
You can never be sure of how experimental a team might get, or how dysfunctional the teams will get after their fifth sub made at the 70’ mark.

No complaints from me, i took today off work and I'm on strepsils as I have no voice. We came to make noise and let everyone know the RBB is back.

Clearly you must not watch many trial/friendly matches, the multiple changes happens all the time.

A decent warm up and a fitting way to open the stadium for the Wanderers. To be fair we looked patchy but its the start of the pre-season so what do you expect. I was happy overall. The stadium is a cracker for football.

The Wanderers defense looked all at sea in the highlights. From what I saw, it could and probably should have been a much larger victory to Leeds.

I think Marcus Babbel can start looking for a new gig! Replacing players willy-nilly and effectively "gifting" the game to Leeds, should result in his immediate firing!!! The man is a buffoon!!!
