Ange Postecoglou's Yokohama claim J-League title with crushing win

By The Roar / Editor

Former Socceroos boss Ange Postecoglou has led Yokohama F. Marinos to their first J1-league title since 2004, becoming the first Australian to win the J-League as a manager in the process.

Yokohama claimed a 3-0 win over second-placed Tokyo FC to seal the championship – just a season after narrowly avoiding relegation.

You got be kidding me, the Australia media and the FFA gave him the Brazil world cup gig on a platter over a coach who directly qualified for it something Ange was never able to do. So Ange through his own fault had to play an extra 4 matches. I also find it a bit suspicious that Degenek was let go from Yokohoma Marinos, so that indicates that a player selected by Ange for the Socceroos wasn't even good enough for his club side. Ange is the worlds most interesting coach at clubs his methods work after a while, you can't say that the Socceroos improved under Ange and there was going to be success around the corner.

Funny I felt thought of him as Angelo or Anglo, to me he was always Ange & a very passionate Australian. Not disputing your argument about the criticism of him, IMO by the ill informed, but never thought it was because he was Angelo Not Anglo.

What a genius football mind Ange Postacoglou has gone thru a hard journey, pity when he was head coach of Australia the media and the FFA never believed him and never supported him had he been an Anglo Australian or a Sydneyite he would have been a hero from day one . No one believed his frustration from the early days working as a youth coach he was asking and begging for change in the set up and coaching of youth, instead he was shut down by senior administrators and bagged by SBS ,he shows his frustration because he is not a politician and when he got the Brisbane roar job so many senior players did not believe him and quit now they want to be his friend . After what he achieved at roar we should have had him as a mentor and converted to the Postacoglou theory ,and we did a little . After he won Australia first ever trophy we should have , media and administrators all said please Angelo tell us show us the way, but when he tried they shut him down AGAIN [FFA] within one year and after he and his socceroos traveled all over the world played 13 counties 26 matches to qualify for the world cup the fox crew and other media bagged him right thru it , [ they are still there commenting and influencing Australian football the Sydney clan !O what a joke ] . one thing Ange is not he is not a politician as many coaches are not he shows his frustration and he is honest that is not a fault its him ,I remember him at south Melbourne he did not have time for us the fans giving him advise ,he just wanted to get on with his job . pity we have lost him to Australian football maybe we never deserved him
