Into the second week of Wimbledon for the first time, the world number one Ashleigh Barty faces American Alison Riske in the fourth round. Join The Roar for all the action with live scores and a blog of the match starting at 8pm (AEST).

Barty demolished young Harriet Dart from the UK in straight sets on Saturday, in her first taste of centre court action at Wimbledon for 2019.

Barty put her head down and went to work, breaking Dart’s opening two service games to take a 5-0 lead in the opening set.

In the second set, Barty faced break points in one service game, but managed to serve her way out of danger, going on to power past the British wildcard in just 53 minutes, 6-1 6-1.

Alison Riske upset 13th seed Belinda Bencic in the third round of the ladies’ singles on Saturday, to set up this fourth-round clash with Barty.

The three set 4-6 6-4 6-4 victory took two hours and 11 minutes.

This is only the second time Riske has reached the fourth round of a Grand Slam, the first was the 2013 US Open.

The right-hander also took out 22nd seed Donna Vekic in the opening round, before defeating Ivana Jorovic in a long second round three-set match.

Currently ranked number 55 in the world, Alison Riske and her coaching team have turned to Australian tennis strategist Craig O’Shannessy to “go over a few things against Ash”.

O’Shannessy has worked with the likes of Novak Djokovic and several other grand slam challengers, with Riske and coach Billy Heiser hoping some of his tips can help the American trouble Barty.

Barty and Riske have faced off just once before, it was in the semi-finals of Eastbourne in 2016 – Barty’s comeback year.

Riske was best on that day, ending Barty’s run of six wins with a 7-6 7-5 victory; she went on to win the tournament.

Prediction
After cruising through the first three rounds, Barty faces a challenge in American Riske, who has 13 wins on grass in the past month.

A welcomed test for Ashleigh no doubt, however, she is warm favourite and should get the job done.

Barty in three sets.

The screaming is ridiculous. Tennis officials are so weak. This should have been banned years ago along with the abuse of umpires.

She just won one grand slam and made the fourth round of the next with a tournament win in between... I really can't tell if you're being serious or not?

She "smoked the dart" but didn't "take the riske".

Well, Aussie Ash Barty is out of Wimbledon 2019. The final Australian to fall; the world number one's serve came undone in this match after such a brilliant percentage on Saturday. After taking the first set comfortably, Barty lost concentration early in the second set and from there, slipped further. Her first serve wasn't on and she felt the pressure when Riske started attacking it with the backhand. The ever composed Ashleigh Barty cracked after a 15 game winning streak. Riske's powerful ground strokes - particularly the backhand - were aggressive and forced Barty deep out of the court. The variation in Riske's repertoire beat Barty at her own game, Riske came into net and chased down everything. While her volley game wasn't particularly strong, it was good enough to ask more of Barty's passing shots. Alison Riske will play either Serena Williams or Suarez Navarro in the quarterfinals.

Riske turned it around after the first set. Went for broke and knocked Barty off her length, then kept winning at the net which was a surprise. Bartys first serve went off and Riske just kept getting better. Hard for Barty as her opposition barely hit the ball back in the first week and Riske hit everything back with interest after the first set.

Well, not sure what Barty does now. She just doesn't have the power to equal the heavy hitters. Just hopeless
