EPL Super Sunday: Final day live scores updates, blog

By Matt Bungard / Roar Guru

In just a few hours the most exciting Premier League race in history will come to the climax. Manchester City and Manchester United are separated by just a few miles, and go into the 38th matchday equal on points. Live updates begin from 11.45pm AEST.

We know that Manchester City are in the drivers seat, but anything can happen, especially given that their opponents aren’t exactly playing for nothing, either.

And then there’s the Champions League race. Three teams vying for two (possibly one) spot amongst Europe’s elite next season.

We all know Arsenal are capable of bottling it in important games, and West Brom will be keen to give Roy Hodgson a win before he heads off to join the England squad as manager.

Spurs and Newcastle will know how possible it is that Arsenal will fail to get three points, and will be praying for a miracle at the Hawthorns.

And then there’s the final battle: relegation. The billionaire underdogs QPR and perennial battlers Bolton are both scrapping to stay alive in the top division.

QPR will stay up should Bolton fail to win, but Owen Coyle’s men will no doubt be aware of how dire QPR’s away record is (combined with the awe-inspiring home record of City) and against a Stoke team with nothing to play for, will surely fancy their chances.

Throughout the night I’ll keep you updated with what’s happening in all the important games. Join me just before 11.45pm AEST for any late news, and don’t hesitate to leave your thoughts in the space below.

Fussball, I wouldn't think the A-League grand finals have been "contrived drama" - the last 2 GFs were the most talked about games all season. In Australia we should retain the finals series and I hope they do. We could improve the last round of the season by playing all games at the same time, espaecially when more than one team is in with a chance. However, with the A-League's biggest benefactor being Fox Sports, I can't see that happening in Australia.

Though I should note that the top story on Man City's website is about the club having joined Foursquare. So, they're not so fussed.

Today's finish shows that you don't need to contrive drama with a "finals system" ... after 38 games the English Premier League champions were decided in the final 90 seconds of football!

Let's not forget our last two HAL grand finals for theatre and drama to rival this but the set of EPL games on the one day with the title on the line and relegation and Euro spots at stake made this unforgettable!

A Tweet that sums it up for me... ... "Injustice, pantomime, comedy, tragedy, life and death. Football is Shakespeare improvised before your eyes. This is why we love it."

That is amazing. I'm speechless - United can thank Joey Barton, probably.

Jesus motherflipping Christ. That was beyond extraordinary. And bizarre here. The pub I was in is owned by a United fan, so he refused to put the City game on. I had to watch on my laptop. When United were done, he finally switched it over, to take the piss and watch City lose. As soon as the channel flipped, Aguero put it in the net. The whistle went, and suddenly all the sets in the house got switched off, and everyone got kicked out. A worse loser than Sir Alex...

United doing the Leverkusen 01-02 and celebrating on the pitch. Bolton being down, then up then level. Spurs scoring after 30 seconds, Arsenal going behind and winning. And of course, Aguero. There'll be few days it football as amazing as this one. I'm going to cherish it.

I'm still shaking... cannot believe what I've just witnessed. Never seen anything like this in following football! This is why Football is the most popular game in the world - why it captures the hearts & minds of men, women, kids, every race, every class, every culture .. Don't think I'll be able to sleep.

They piled everyone forward, Aguero was unmarked and finished well. Amazing scenes. QPR stay up as well as Bolton only managed a draw.
