Tell us your tip: Who wins the WBBL and BBL finals?

By The Roar / Editor

The big day is here – today we’ll find out the winners of this summer’s WBBL and BBL competitions, and as luck would have it, the same franchises are being represented in both matches.

Big Bash League final live scores, blog

For both the male and female competitions it’s case of the Perth Scorchers hosting the Sydney Sixers at the WACA – sorry, #TheFurnace.

In both competitions, it is the Scorchers who will go in as favourites – understandable, given they are on home soil.

For either side though it will be a chance to do the double by winning both sides of the competition – coincidentally enough, the Sydney Thunder did exactly that last year.

So what we want to know is – who are you tipping? Will it be a Scorchers double, a Sixers double, or something in between?

Check out the key information for both matches below, and then let us know in the comments who you think will win, and why.

You are not impressed by conceding only 3 runs in 4 overs?

Turner, Agar and Johnson are all "brutal power" with the bat. The Scorchers' fielding is a 30 run edge. The Scorchers' fielding has been "player of the tournament".

Johnson bowled well, but he didn't exactly get his wickets from great balls. The Scorchers' ineup looks a lot softer without the Marshes I must say. They lose their power hitter and SMarsh > Bancroft at the top - by a margin.

S. Marsh hit form just at the end, big loss for the Scorchers, particularly with his bro still out too... They'll need Whiteman, Klingon & Voges to fire, with some big hitting from Turner & Agar at the end. Let's hope MJ bowls like the previous game! If everything clicks, Scorchers lads should still be able to do it without SOS. As for the ladies, bit close to call... Sixers have stronger line up on paper, but there's home ground advantage to consider. 50-50, maybe slight edge towards Sixers?

Sixers for the girls. They have been the best team all comp. Just a shame they don't get any home advantage for coming 1st and their opposition do.

Scorchers for the double, women's should be the closer game.

My heart says Sixers, head Scorchers. Trying to work out the Scorchers team: Klinger, SMarsh, Bell, Voges, MMarsh, Turner at 6, Whiteman, Agar, Richardson, Tye, Johnson - that means no Bancroft, NCN, Muirhead, Paris, Valente, Cartwright and Willey from that squad Weakness - hard to hit spinners and change up bowlers, and acking brutal power with the bat except for MMarsh Sixers like this? Hughes, Lumb, Maddinson, Henriques, Roy/Billings, Haddin, Botha, Abbott, Dwarshuis, Lyon, Bird, From that squad missing out - Bollinger, Mennie, Silk, SOK Not super strong at 5-6-7, spinners better, quicks not as good - Maddinson or Henriques need to score 70 off 40 for them to win

I've said on a previous article that maddinson is key. He needs to score 40+ for the Sixers to win.

If Maddinson actually scores more than 5 maybe. WACA won't ever as helpful for Lyon but he needs to bowl well again. Still think Mitch's Scorchers will take it unfortunately.
