Trade to who? Wadonga Rovers? No AFL Club will be stupid enough to take on that contract surely? If he's Traded surely the HAwks are still paying at least 40% of his wage

Vickery is/was insurance for Roughhead. When the hawks signed him Roughie's recovery was unknown. He could still have a role as the ruck/forward, but he is comparatively immobile so unable to apply defensive pressure (as compared to Roughie say). Shoenmakers will get a game ahead of him as there feels like there could be a huge upside (still), and O'Brien needs games over the next 14 months. It's not the worst signing, plugged a structural hole we had (last year anyway), with the inflated salary a result of reducing the contract length so that the Tigers could get better compensation, which was a second-rounder, from that it appears he was relatively well-regarded.

Lennon still can't get a go. He's done at the end of the season. Nobody kills the career of a promising junior like the Tigers.

I reckon you could do better than that Treloar has a disposal efficiency of just 69.3% and averages 4.7 turnovers a game. I think he undoes a lot of his good work.

it is easy macca, they can give us Treloar!!

Macca I think you are right but I don't think he will be able to turn around like Jones Jones is a lot more mobile then Vickery.

No worries Peter - I assumed you meant one of them but the other questions still stand - can you actually trade your first round pick this year and are you worried that giving away your first round pick 3 years in a row will create issues? I have a feeling Adelaide will want more than a first round pick and a fringe player for either of those 2.

Is they any chance Ty will announce his surprise retirement in order to at least be in the exalted class of 2017? No, I thought not......

AD - I don't love statistics - I just think if you are going to offer an opinion you should also offer some support for it - statistics while having limitations perform this role and most of them are pretty easy to come by. Wilson - He is more likely to end up at a bikie club than an AFL club - but he you do manage to trade him I doubt you would use the pick you get for him (and as Birdman says you will still be paying his salary) - may as well keep him a pray he becomes your Liam Jones.

sadly I think you maybe right Macca unless a club has the situation like eagle did when they took Giles from Ess then the chance are slim. and he could well play only a few games next year if he stays at the Hawks. North are the only other I could see that may need a 3/4 Ruck forward but again slim.

You love statistics, don't you Macca? It's not a bad thing at all - it's really interesting - but wow you must loooove them.

I am going to go with "no one". In 9 seasons he has played 125 games - this will be the third year he has played less than 10 and only 3 times has he played more than 15.

But with maci retirement you need that extra backup ruckman ? I think the idea of him was right at the time but as the years gone in for the hawks he has become lest relevant to them I wonder who may want him is the big problem

Macca sorry for the confusion I meant getting either Lever or McGovern don't think we can land both. Broomhead and our first pick could secure one of them?

O'Meara is a jet. Wish him all the best for a long career at the Hawks but please don't send Vickery back to where he came from.

Peter - as it stands right now the Pies have pick 6, pick 36, pick 54 & pick 60 in the first 4 rounds of the draft with 36 and beyond likely to slip well past that with father sons and academy selections - what would you expect the pies to give up for Lever or McGovern? And in 2015 in Pies first pick was 32 and in 2016 it was 30 - are the pies able to trade a first round pick this year? Isn't there some rule about having to have at least 2 first round picks every 4 years? And are you concerned this strategy might result in list problems later on?

Trade, unless they think the off field stuff with his restaurant is holding him back, cos with Ceglar coming back soon he's gonna be the 4th man fighting for the 2 ruckman/forward spots

tricky one Wilson, as I reckon Vickery should have been close to senior selection for the Roos game as O'Brien isn't exactly smashing it but to be honest Ty's Box Hill form is nothing special. Personally I'd trade him as Ceglar's return and Pittonet's development make him surplus to requirements. Having said that I doubt Ty would attract any interest at the trade table and if he did, we'd get bugger all for him and probably have to pay at least $200-250k of his salary for 2018. Looks like a bust but maybe another pre-season might turn him around but from where I'm sitting I think his career as an AFL footballer will be over at the end of 2018.
