Michael Cheika couldn’t fault the courage of his players after a 20-point loss in the first match of the 2017 Bledisloe Cup, but conceded that the Wallabies need to improve if they are to challenge the All Blacks.

Cheika said in his post-game comments that the Wallabies need to improve their defensive ability and their tackling after conceding 54 points against New Zealand, the highest score ever seen in a Bledisloe Test.

Cheika said the Wallabies “got punished” for their lack of defensive prowess, but also noted that the Cup is not yet lost with two matches left in the series.

Let's face it, the coach is not the smartest bloke around and he should go!! Simple as that, this is suppose to be a professional outfit and all this talk about defence etc etc should have been sorted out long before Saturdays kick off!!! No point pointing individual things out, we were like schoolboys fullstop playing against men and let's just call a halt to all this and remove our biggest stumbling block to any signs of resurrecting the national team, the Coach and his phoney cronies!!! You know what I mean!!

Question: Give an example of one-dimensional rugby. Answer: Imbue the thought in your players that only ‘in your face running rugby’ must be played—the kind the coach played (and not very well) in his day. And that’s what the Wallabies did last Saturday. No defence: over thirty missed tackles; no effective kick-and-chase; and no cohesive team plan to stop the relentless pressure of a well drilled ABs side. How long must the loyal fans suffer the stupidities of a coach who cannot see the light of day? Who plays the same old anointed warriors of yesteryear (Moore) and out of position so-called superstars (Folau); who uses a defensive coach that goes absent on the battlefield? It seems, my friends, the answer to that is, forever. While the blue-blazer brigade forges on ignoring experienced advice.
