This was supposed to be the season where Alan Richardson’s men propelled up the ladder into a finals position. We may only have played four games, but the Saints look worse off than last season.
Having only got the one win, and against a very average Brisbane Lions side, serious questions should now be asked about the future of this football club.
In team news for the Saints, Tim Membrey, Hunter Clark and Mav Weller all come into the side. Jack Lonie has been omitted, while Dylan Roberton and Rowan Marshall both miss through injury.
For the Giants, it wasn’t a convincing performance against the Fremantle Dockers in Canberra, but they got the job done. To be fair, the conditions weren’t easy to play in due to the wind, but we saw another side to Leon Cameron’s side.
They have the ability to simply grind out a result and get the job done. You cannot play your best every time, so they will be pleased to gain all four points and move on.
Cameron will be happy that his side are yet to reach their best, but are still churning out wins, and in the home-and-away season, that is all that matters.
Prediction
The season only gets worse for St Kilda, as they will be taught a lesson by a very good Greater Western Sydney side.
Giants by 36.

GWS have been involved in 3 of the last 4 draws, haven't they? They drew against Hawthorn and Geelong last year, and have now drawn against St Kilda this year.

What a finish. GWS skill level well down today and St Kilda showed plenty of courage.

Wasn't a great game on the eye, but the ending was certainly exciting.

Hm. You could justify a free kick, but Carlisle had already dropped the ball.

GWS only have themselves to blame if they lose this. They should have had this iced long ago.
