The 2018 NRL season is over and the Sydney Roosters have added another premiership to their silverware cabinet. As always, the Twitterverse had plenty to say.

Given the controversial lead-in to the grand final, it’s no surprise that there were a few good-natured barbs being thrown Billy Slater’s way as the match neared.
Meanwhile neutrals like our Ryan O’Connell looked to the stars, or elsewhere, to help decide who to barrack for.
C’mon Ryan – would you feel any less dirty the other way?
As crows flocked to the ground, we spotted the one sight that is always a guarantee in rugby league, appearing like clockwork: the random Souths guy.
Then the big news hit. Despite all news the contrary: Cooper Cronk was IN.
Seems legit. Suffice to say there were some varied opinions on the news.
But the real highlight of the pre-game was without a doubt Sam Thaiday backing up his snappy Dally M threads with the fashion combo you never knew you needed: a velvet jacket and a pair of shorts.
Billy Slater was the last of the retiring players to come on ground but as he emerged the crowd let their feels about him be known, and in a none-too-pleasant fashion.
Those fans patiently waiting for the first big stuff up of the night didn’t have to wait much longer.
As for the entertainment itself, well, fair to say the crowd was a bit split in terms of how they felt – but everyone agreed the drummer had dressed for the occasion.
Mixed views
You made, it Alex.
After so much speculation, the start of the match was totally unexpected. Cooper Cronk struggled to have an impact early, but it didn’t matter – the Storm hardly seemed to have turned up.
Fans may have been divided, but everyone unanimously agreed the mid-match music was about the worst idea possible.
Then, at last, a bit of fight! Unfortunately for the Storm, it wasn’t on the scoreboard.
Things quickly turned from bad to worse for the Melbourne Storm when Cameron Munster got himself sent to the sin bin.
Sydney scored a third try before half time and the punters were willing to call it.
There were some chuckles to be had at halftime.
And a sublime try from Josh Addo-Carr gave Storm fans a brief flash of hope.
But we all knew where this was going.
Tributes flowed for Cooper Cronk.
And a second sin-binning for the match for Cam Munster put the game to bed.
In the end, nothing left to say – congrats to the Sydney Roosters.
