VOTE: Wallabies DIY Rugby World Cup player ratings vs Fiji

By The Roar / Editor

The performance wasn’t too pretty all the way through, but the Wallabies have nonetheless started their 2019 World Cup with a 39-21 win over Pool D opponents Fiji.

The Pacific Islanders were the better side in the first half, only for Australia to find their composure in the second stanza to run out comfortable winners.

But you already know that. What we want to know is how you think each of the Aussies fared on the pitch – it’s time to give them each a rating based on their performance against Fiji.

If you’ve not done our DIY player ratings before, it’s a simple enough process. Hit up the form below and rate each player from 1 to 10 based on how well they played. We’ll keep track of the results and publish our findings tomorrow.

You’re free to rate players as you like with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest – or toss an NA on any player not worth rating – but if you’re looking for a bit more detail than that, our handy little guide might help you make your judgments…

1. Had he not played, the team would have been better off. Negatively affected the performance of the side. May God have mercy on his soul.
2. Anonymous. Was he even there?
3. Did some things that you expect a player to be able to do, but did a whole bunch of other things that sucked.
4. Was passable in patches, but not up to standard in a squad of such depth.
5. Performed his role without anything really noticeable happening.
6. Good.
7. Pretty good, actually.
8. Very good.
9. Excellent.
10. Might as well have been John Eales.

Beale did nothing wrong. He put Bomber Hodge in at the end of a good back line move. White, Lealiifano, JOC and Beale . JOC can’t tackle but can pass. Play him at 12, with Kuridrani who is complete at 13. Kerevi on the wing. DHP is not a test full back anymore than he is a winger. Slow, a weak defender from on and butter fingered. Ben Smith and Le Rue are not tall but awesome under a high ball. It helps if those contesting are on side, unlike Hodge. Folau was always off side and running off forward passes. I can’t wait for his book “ Thirty Pieces of Silver “ to see if this was under instructions. It will be an interesting read about betrayal, deception, greed, vested interests and gutless mates.

Spot on Chris! We need DHP to start at Full Back and Tevita Kurindrani at outside. O'Connor and Beale are pretenders.

Beale was Beale - at the heart of our best and worst. Should apply those skills from the bench. I thought JOC was good. Nobody is going to have an easy night defending those boys in space. DHP was very good off the bench with some lovely touches and tackle busting. LSL was good I agree but maybe that tells us that off the bench for impact is his best role?

Both Beale and Oconnor dud not deserve a start. As we now have 3 selectors can we acknowledge that defence will win the critical games and accordingly DHP and Kuiradrani must start Luku must start also, huge impact in defence and the lineout. Our coach chose to go with average onlygoal kickers - huge mistake
