GWS bad boy Toby Greene has again ignited controversy in the first quarter after what looked to be yet another instance of unnecessary contact to the face of an opponent.
After a tackle from Tigers defender Liam Baker, Greene appeared to take a swipe at his opponent’s face, drawing the immediate intrigue and ire of Channel Seven commentator Brian Taylor.

Greene has been cited in both finals he’s played this September. He sensationally escaped with a $7500 fine for incredibly rough contact to the head and face of Marcus Bontempelli in his side’s big elimination final win over the Western Bulldogs.
Even more controversially, he had a one-match suspension upheld twice at the tribunal for making unnecessary contact to Lachie Neale of Brisbane’s eye in the three-point semi-final win.
The latter incident forced him to miss the preliminary final win over Collingwood, while also making him the prime target of ‘feedback’ from opposition supporters.

That sobriquet is known in the AFL as well. I expect he'll be involved in a 'road accident' in the next year's "home n away" season. I don't condone violence but, you know, karma is a female dog.

Once again going for the cheapshot as the low life grubs of society do.

In rugby we would call this type of player 'a cat'. Such a cat would be immediately punished...by his own team mates. Seems that this chap's father headbutted a female police officer. Not fit to breed. Guttersnipes.

Too right. But they can't see it. They mouth platitudes about respect but don't do anything when the line is crossed.

Toby Greene's thuggish behaviors is hurting the reputation of the AFL.

In the words of Brittany Spears..Oops Toby you've gone and done it again...ready for your knuckles to be wrapped by the AFL's pathetic proverbial ruler again? See how they tried to drum up some sympathy for him during the week. Poor lad, got to play a GF but clearly wasn't up to the real challenge. So reverted to his signature (or according to Leon Cameron's AFL rhetoric 'brand') of dirty play. Let him sit out the first few matches next season while the real men play.

the bloke wants to watch the way hard footballers go about it, put your body on the line instead of committing these weak cheap shots, thats what it takes to win flags

What a grub! Suspended from a prelim wasn't enough punishment.

I wonder if he'll be used in an AFL Promotional anytime soon in the next 500 years?
