The Wallabies hoodoo against Scotland teams continued with a 15-13 loss at Murrayfield.
In any loss, you’d expect some mediocre scores and there were many ‘average’ players for the Wallabies according to Roar readers.
Thanks to everyone who voted in our DIY player ratings.
The vast majority of players scored around the five mark which indicates that no one really stood out.
Only captain Michael Hooper and fullback Andrew Kellaway averaged over 6 on the ratings while Izaia Perese was just under 6 average in his debut Test.

Slips gave away 3 penalties and the loss of territory and momentum that causes. He’s just not good enough to hold a scrum against European sides. He will get smashed again by England and Wales.

Rennie committed to Paisami as his next inside centre too early, with almost no playing form to support the pick (3 games in SRAU, 0 in SRTT). With Kerevi unavailable and no other player remotely close to his playing style, Irae Simone has been the form Aus 12 for the last couple of years (better playmaking form than Toomua even) and should have been part of the squad.

Look at his stats in terms of number of carries and number of tackles and you'll see he is often up there across the tight 5 forwards.

How Hunter Pasiami is in the starting team is beyond me. So many shortfalls to his game - Nowhere near international standard yet. I think he has the potential to get there one day but at the moment he should be honing his craft in Super Rugby and maybe getting some minutes off the pine

Slipper mobile? Yes insofar as he can walk on to the pitch.

I’d like to hear what Slipper has to say about that. How does a reasonably proficient scrum go from out performing SA to plasticine with only the introduction of two NH locks

Smith is not playing at all against Ireland WL… I was expecting him to come on off the bench, so it is an interesting decision! Maybe jet lag is a key.

WL… People will look at Kellaway which is fair enough! I would give him Rookie of the year for sure. But IMO Hooper was the most consistent and best performing Wallabies player, he is in with a real shout for Worlds best player. Aaron Smith I think is the best but he has not played the full season.

It flabbergasted me also WL.. I mentioned how Roar followers pick their favourite players, even after a poor performance.

I agree with most of what you said but Beale was held up twice and other than that only did very little wrong because he did very little. Actually nothing. The only times he did anything he turned the ball over. He was a 1 at best.

JOC will be better for the run as well and difficult for a 10 when not much is going on around you. I think JOC has been dealt the hand of an overall team performance which tends to come back and bite the 10.

I think people had over the top expectations on our locks. Winning lineout ball is a massive improvement for the Wallabies locks IMO.

Beale was held up twice. Once I can cop, but again in a short period is either lazy, careless or dumb. Take your pick… That costs him points on my scale. I gave him 4 and thought hard about scoring 3.
