Rating the Glory's new boys - how have Perth's latest signings slotted in?

After Perth Glory’s most recent action-packed 4-2 victory at home over reigning premiers Melbourne City, we are now halfway through the A-League men’s season. Let’s take a look at how Perth’s player additions have been going, in order from best to worst.

Adam Taggart: 9/10

We believe that Adam has been our best signing, although technically signed halfway through last season, he was injury-riddled and didn’t play much at the back end of the last campaign. Taggart is our top goalscorer, co-captain, and a great team player. He has played 13 matches this season with 9 goals and 3 assists, and the only thing that can hold this man down is his injury record.

Stefan Colakovski: 8/10

Whilst Colakovski was technically not signed this season, he only had a few minutes of game time last season, so we shall be counting him. Colakovski has been a very reliable player, with a healthy total of goal contributions (5 goals and one assist), as well as being a diverse player position-wise. However, he has a short temper and sometimes lacks a cool head to finish his chances. Overall, Stefan has been a great player for us this season.

Aleksandar Susnjar: 7.5/10

Aleksandar is a quality defender who has had to play out of position a fair amount. We have seen his attacking capabilities with 2 goals scored, including one of the goals of the season in that 4-3 loss in Unite Round. Susnjar has kept his composure with a pass accuracy of 80% and wins 78.3% of his tackles.

Bruce Kamau: 6/10

Bruce has been superb in many instances, including in the 2-0 win at home to the Mariners and has given us superb pressing and above-average stats. Unfortunately, he hasn’t grabbed a goal or assist but has been a helpful player to have, and a top guy. Bruce received a red card in our 3-2 loss at home to Melbourne Victory. We rated Bruce’s signing as an average.

Oliver Sail: 6/10

Sail had started pre-season very well, however mistakes in his first few games of the season have resulted in him being benched till recently, however the saves he has made in his recent games have been outstanding, Sail is great at shot-stopping, but his distribution, one of his best factors coming into the club has looked a little suspect.

Riley Warland: 5.5/10

Riley started the season with a very small amount of gametime but due to injuries, he has had to fill in for the makeshift left back that was Susnjar. Overall, he has done a decent job but is not at the level required.

Jarrod Carluccio: 5/10

A right-side attacker, Jarrod has scored just the one goal and Perth extended his loan by 6 months on deadline day. He is a hard-working right winger that meets the club’s needs. However, there is some room for improvement with a 63% pass accuracy and a 43% dribble success rate.

Oliver Bozanic: 5/10

Oliver was a decent player who worked well for this club before moving on in January.
