After an action-packed day yesterday, the 2021 AFL trade period resumes again today. Join The Roar for a live blog and rolling coverage of the day’s news, rumours and action from 9am (AEDT).

It was a slow start to the trade period, but the action really picked up yesterday with four trades, a free agency signing and two new trade requests.

It all kicked off with Will Brodie moving from the Gold Coast to Fremantle – bringing picks 19, 61 and 69 with him.

The Dockers then finally bid farewell to Adam Cerra, sending him to Carlton in exchange for pick six and future third-rounder.

Freo weren’t finished there, completing a pick swap with Collingwood to potentially unlock other deals, while the fourth trade saw Sam Petrevski-Seton join West Coast and Lewis Young join Carlton in a three-way deal.

Tim O’Brien also found a new home, crossing from Hawthorn to the Western Bulldogs as an unrestricted free agent.

But the biggest news of the day came late, with multiple outlets claiming Freo ruck-forward Rory Lobb may be on his way back to Greater Western Sydney three years after he originally left them. A medical has been completed and there could yet be another twist.

Of course, we’ve still got the matter of Jordan Dawson’s move to Adelaide, Robbie Tarrant’s move to Richmond, Callum Coleman-Jones’ move to North Melbourne and Jordan Clark’s move to Fremantle all to sort out.

Join The Roar for a live blog of all the latest news throughout the trade and free agency period, starting from 9am (AEDT).

I think you will also find between Jack and Lynch they popped through around 90 goals and not too many other clubs did that this year from their 2 main spearheads. Pretty reasonable for an average season with plenty missing through the midfield during the year.

Tommy’s going nowhere. The 2019 Cup has his name on it. Throw rocks at him if you like, we love him at Tigerland. Salary cap is tight that is why CCJ is gone. Edwards, Jack and Cotch will come off in the next 2 years so should be able to manage.

Tigers could only dream of those draft picks - nearly as good as Melbourne! Rename Richmond the Gold Coast academy!

His strength with kicking is his 50-60m kick on the run and the inside 50 pass. That marking is best deployed in that centre to 50m arc area. CHF like James Hird, yeah, but he gets smothered by 2 and 3 defenders without umpire protection as a deep forward. People mention his 6.21 but fair umpiring, he would have had at least 20 shots from frees in the goal square. Sadly, we had Margetts for every Freo home game and he always positioned himself to defend Fyfe and Taberner.

Fyfe, if his legs are OK, is almost unstoppable in the air. 6 foot 4, then jumps. if he had the option to specialise, i could easily see him kicking 2-3 a game. and it would be pretty to watch.

4039 reasons it was a good deal and with Jack almost done, plenty more to give. Lynch was good in an interrupted year this year, with shambolic delivery. Still, 4039 reasons to smile....

I'd say pre-season could be a bit interesting for Rory. Colin Young is also Bobby Hill's agent (and Brad Hill's). He seems to be trying to play a violin with a sledgehammer. He kicked up a fuss a few year's ago when he said Freo was "going nowhere" when they delisted Shane Kersten after Kersten decided to no longer turn up to training.

Casboult is no certainty to go to the Suns, he's just moving to a beautiful little seaside village down the way from GC. He won't be picked up off the senior list and might not get picked in the rookie draft or preseason draft. The Supplemental Selection Period in March could be his best chance if he trains over the Summer and the Suns have tall forward injuries, perhaps as a cover if Rory Thompson ends up retiring. Levi often played back in the Teague Train, with elite stats as an intercept marking and spoiling key defender, which is where the depth really needs to be added. It is a bonus that he can play ruck forward. But definitely not a done deal.

Disagree. Barrett is a bonafide journalist who gets lost in his own hubris. Cornes wouldn't know the meaning of the word.

That was why he chose Hawthorn in particular (allegedly over Essendon), having worked with Michael Makdissi previously. It wasn't why he chose to come to Victoria. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean he still wants to be in Victoria now.

Cal Twomey is now saying that North rejected picks 7, 15, 26 and CCJ from Richmond for pick 1. If the Suns have something up their sleeves for pick 1 it will have to involve pick 3, future first and a player. Actually, the Suns could afford even more than that, but that's the only deal that beats what Adelaide and Richmond have thrown up so far and North went as far as to offer Darcy Macpherson a 2 year deal to spread his payment across a second year, which is a deal that Gold Coast have promised him if they can't find him a better deal. Scott Clayton recruited the kid, so he must like something about him.

I’m pretty sure they’ll try and extend him the night the draft in exactly like what happened to Daicos

Remember, this is U17s...I'm sure. Look at young Broadbent. 16yo, already 202cm and has played league for Peel already.

The Crows have massive FOMO with SA kids going early in the draft. Then they blow their chances of trading for them by bragging that they'll get the player after 2 years, but it rarely happens (possibly because Adelaide is a boring hole and just about anywhere else is preferable). I prefer to believe that JHF is that good that you'd trade an early first and future first. However, the Crows' offer was too much and too risky because if Adelaide climbs the order their future first is late and if North remains at the bottom then the difference between the future picks. The Suns offered 3 and 19, but that was knocked back. North really want the kid, but word is that because it is their first ever number 1 pick they intend to make a big deal out of it.

Which is why I don’t get the crows throwing the kitchen sink at Horne Francis. I’m sure he’s a jet however I would be pursuing a second first round pick not selling the farm for an 18 year old

A lot of players didn't feature as this was a match meant to be played on the Gold Coast between WA and Allies, but someone sneezed and they closed the borders. Roberts has a go at everything, like a cross between Matt Rowell and Tom Green, which means he gets caught with the ball a lot, but you have to admire the gut running and inside grit. I've written a review, so maybe it will go up tonight.

Yeah I watched part of the last quarter I was a bit surprised none of Cal Twomey's phantom draft featured super heavily, I was pretty impressed with Roberts and how he ran up and down the ground. I also rated Motlop's last quarter in particular I noticed a lot of him.
