The Carlton Blues are desperately seeking their first win, and they’ll hope to score it against the Fremantle Dockers at Marvel Stadium. Stay up to date with their AFL clash with live scores on The Roar from 3:20pm (AEST).

It’s been a case of ‘close, but no cigar’ for Carlton in both of their 2021 matches. They were forgiven for falling short against the Tigers in Round 1, but last week’s disappointing effort against Collingwood went down poorly amongst fans and analysts alike. Another loss today would put the blowtorch firmly at their backs – especially for coach David Teague.

Fremantle would be content with their start to the season and will look to move ahead on the ledger. They were competitive but, ultimately, outmatched against the Demons in Round 1, before putting on a clinic against an insipid Giants side last week to put their first win on the board. They’re battling a big injury list, however, and could be vulnerable this afternoon.

Carlton got up by four points in an after-the-siren thriller last year – their second four-point win over Freo in a row. The Dockers have a shocking record at Marvel Stadium, losing on all five of their last visits and ten of their last 12 but, curiously, the Blues haven’t beaten Fremantle at home since 2008.

Nah, Cripps won’t play that long. His boy will be shot. The game will get faster and faster by time he retires as a Blue. Wishful thinking though

Mundy is 35 and Betts is nearly 40. How old was Mitchell when he played for the Eagles? I never said what year Cripps would leave Carlton ......I will say it again Cripps will end his career at West Coast and won’t play in a Carlton premiership side.

Poor old Nat has to return to the midfield if we are going to be competitive in games. Mundy can’t do it all the other kids are a couple of years and kilos away from being top liners. The return of Tucker could help a bit as well.

Not Tabs fault ? Your joking Don watch the replay not once did he make a effort to even lead up the ground. Content to play at the back of the contest all day. As in all games this year he started to actually try and do something late in the last quarter. Needs a wake up call and be sent back to Peel. This bloke has a heart as big as pea....every one including AD can see his effort is appalling.

Cox is bigger than Logue. Cox beats most bigger men because of his pace. McKay got 7.5 yesterday because of their midfield dominance not because of the last line of defence. Many of McKay's marks were on one of our smaller defenders because Cox was covering Casboult on the goal line. When we are undersized, our defence has always handed over. We did it all last year and were praised. Your blame game is way too simplistic.

This is one of McKay's best games. He has let Carlton down many times. He was also a high draft pick while Tabs was a rookie. Tabs is the epitome of how to make the most of his ability. You seem to miss aspects of the game because you only think week to week without knowing much else. As you get older, let's hope wisdom follows.

He has been good but does get monstered by the really big boys. Cameron and Kennedy both kicked bags on him last season. I think he is perfect as a second key defender. If we had Hamling or Pearce or even Logue they could have gone to McKay.. leaving Cox to either take Casboult or play as the interceptor. Injuries have hurt our backline although that shouldn't be used as an excuse.

Tabs is a barometer... If he is up the team are generally playing well, but too often he lets us down. By no means is he the only one at fault for yesterday but in his 8th year in the system you'd expect far more. McKay is a great example of a Key Forward that has developed hugely... Taberner has been the same average player season after season. Yesterday the lack of effort he showed in the contest was the final straw.. time to look elsewhere.

My support is honest. I don't say everything FFC is great just because I'm a member.

Absolutely not! But if the performance isn't up to scratch I'll say my piece and be honest. We've been in the wilderness for 5 years now.. I want to see success and year after year, round after round we are served up the same rubbish football... It isn't helped by 'fans' like you that continue to accept mediocrity.
