If you are happy to be gaslit thats fine, I prefer not to just happily accept being told that black is white or up is down. Once you accept that the truth is unimportant or a "first world problem" you are on a very slippery slope.

First world problems again. So just change the channel, push the mute button or suck it up & find something else to complain about.

Float ideas all you want but claim the idea has massive support when it doesn’t is a different thing - same as claiming there is a capacity crowd when the stadium is half full
Mr Right
Roar Rookie
Why shouldn't the media float ideas? How long have been a footy supporter? The media has floated so many ideas & discussion points on so many issues over the years. Often well before they came to fruition. Recolating South Melbourne to Sydney. A salary cap back in the late 80s, bringing in teams from Adelaide in the 90s, the Fitzroy / Brisbane merger. Scrapping the Sydney Cola, deliberate out of bounds, no future priority picks due to teams tanking, bringing in a Tassie Team. Okay, your highness might have agreed & signed off on them all, but tunnel vision isn't the best way to manage any growing sport or business.

Why shouldn’t it change, it hasn’t always been this way. And the issue is bigger than you think - the media make up narratives that change the game itself - I don’t know any football supporters who want a mid season draft but the media keep talking it up and claim there is wide support. No one really wants a night grand final but the media keep pushing the idea as just a matter of time. Even this round zero, don’t know anyone who thinks it’s a great idea but the media love it so they report half full stands as packed houses

First world Macca & it is never going change. So just change the channel, push the mute button or suck it up & find something else to complain about.

Me, I don’t like being gaslit
Macca
Roar Rookie
No problem with expansion teams just a problem with being gaslit by the media for their own purposes

Give it a rest.

Who actually cares?

Clearly you

Not as bad as Richmond at least

Macca, if you can't handle the commentators beating the crowd attendance, the game atmosphere or a team's ability to take the title, maybe you should stop following sport. Suck it up, it is a part of most major sports worldwide. Keep in mind that 10% of Australians live in Western Sydney. I know you are both a Blues & an AFL fan. You might want to see the bigger picture. As an AFL fan myself, when I see GWS drawing bigger crowds than NRL or Soccer games, I obtain a pretty positive feel about the future our game in a tough market.

Now now Macca, is it really delusion if he's winning us premierships? :stoked:
Macca
Roar Rookie
Just took a look at the highlights, plenty of spare seats all game clearly visible- I suppose they were all just getting a drink
Macca
Roar Rookie
Pies fans have become so infatuated with Fly (to the point of delusion) and the teams ability to win from anywhere but they throw it all out the window 3/4 after a premiership?
XI
Roar Guru
Yes. Biggest club means biggest bandwagon
PeteB
Roar Rookie
Yeah a tough draw for the Pies. Swans, Saint and Lions coming up. All finals contenders. Tipping Brodie to have 30 disposals next week.
Macca
Roar Rookie
So despite Collingwoods history of big 4th quarter comebacks half the crowd left at 3/4 time?
PeteB
Roar Rookie
Aha yeah two or three definitely matters. We better not drop next weeks game against a bottom four club or last nights result is all for nought.
