Spot on regarding periods of silence Scyphus. BT especially is guilty of this. Never leaves a moments silence, constantly talks either stating the obvious or waffling on about irrelevant nonsense.

Spot on. Unfortunately Ch 7 seem more interested in hiring big name ex players. Some of the guys they hire can barely string a coherent sentence together. The whole industry is one giant boys club.

Channel 7’s coverage has been shockingly bad for years. They treat the commentators like they’re the stars of the show instead of the players, and they treat the sport like it’s one of their trashy reality tv shows.
I’d kill to have the option of muting the commentators and just have the crowd noise (won’t happen sadly). Channel 7’s commentary is so bad that it makes games unwatchable. I can see what’s happening on the screen, I don’t need Brian Taylor shouting stupid catchphrases at me to enjoy the match.

Draws are fine during the home and away season. Extra time is only needed for finals.

Why the hell do Channel 7 always insist on zooming in to random nuffies with microphones so we hear their individual shrieking instead of showing us broad shots of the crowd with microphones placed so we can hear the roar of the winning teams supporters? They have no idea how to cover a game of football.

It was a thrilling match, however I think it’s a bit of a stretch to say the Pies are back. We were smashed in the middle and made too many unforced errors for my liking. We’re really going to have to lift our game against the Blues next week.

I remember hearing postive things regarding his time at Richmond. Apparently he did train really hard and set a good example for the younger players.

Not really. McGuire left Collingwood three years ago and the club hasn’t looked back. He’s just another media loud mouth now. Whatever he says isn’t relevant to Colingwood FC.

Still too many close ups for my liking. My pet peeve is when they zoom in close on a player running with the ball instead of showing us what options he has down field. Although to be fair to Ch7, Fox are guilty of this too.
