Round 4 closes with what should be an intriguing affair between the Hawthorn Hawks and the North Melbourne Kangaroos at Marvel Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 6:10pm (AEST).

Hawthorn silenced a lot of doubters last Thursday night as their band of wily veterans put Richmond to the sword in a vintage performance. It was the perfect response to Round 2’s shocker at Kardinia Park and had many a pundit wondering whether Clarko has the list primed for a surprise flag tilt.

North Melbourne, conversely, came back down to earth last week after a statement win over the Giants in Sydney. Favoured to knock off the Swans, the Kangaroos went ice cold in the middle half of the game and couldn’t make up enough ground in the last quarter – falling by 11 points.

The Roos have won two of their last three clashes with the Hawks, although they split last year’s meetings and had lost the previous four. Hawthorn took out their Round 3 meeting at the MCG, before North got revenge at Marvel in Round 20.

Garbage! Any coach would be furious if his team gave up a 31 point lead. Let us know when you land an senior AFL gig. Sheesh!

North got let off the hook way too many times with holding the ball and the Hawks should've nailed more of their opportunities early on. Wingard seems to be finally getting his act together at Hawks, which would be pleasing.

I know it's a game of tactics and who can get the better of them usually wins but Clarkson is hard to please at the best of times and it makes it hard to like him as his arrogance is over the top. North Melb had the better of Hawthorn late and had all the momentum and could've won but Clarkson let his emotions boil over rather than staying calm and look to win

Bad finishing, umps and poor last qtr pressure almost let North back in. John Kennedy Sr. would be pleased

Great come back by North when they could easily have thrown in the towel 5 goals down. A better effort than last week despite the final result.

Hawks made the same mistake as the Saints did in R1 by putting the cue in the rack against North but the Hawks were able to hold on for the win in this case. Can't give North an inch when you play them. Hawks were the better side and deserved the win but you know you are going to have to play four quarters against the Roos under Shaw. They don't give up under him.

It's hard to make sense of this game as either team would be happy at the end. I think in 3 games carl/ess and gee/melb included was hard to watch and coaches are more concerned with defended the opposition than outscoring them.

Hawk can not get a holding the ball decision against North. Has the rule been abolished?
