The AFL’s annual Pride Game will take place behind closed doors as the Sydney Swans take on the St Kilda Saints on Saturday night. Tune in right here on The Roar with live scores from 7:40pm (AEST).

The Swans are on the cusp of the top four and in sparkling form, having won their last five games in a row. If they can leapfrog Port Adelaide or Melbourne for that precious double chance, the sky is really the limit for the Young Bloods in 2021.

Things haven’t been nearly as rosy for the Saints, last week’s loss to Carlton just about putting the final nail in the coffin of what has been a disastrous year. Nevertheless, an upset win here would at least ask the question of the sides above them on the ladder, though follow-up clashes with Geelong and Fremantle will be mighty tough to win as well.

Injury has forced Brett Ratten to make a string of changes to the line-up, with key back Dougal Howard, running defender Hunter Clark and wingman Jack Billings all on the outer. A hamstring injury, and rumours of a trade come season’s end, mean Billings, the 2013 no.3 draft pick, may have played his final game as a Saint.

Bah I’m not biased. The swans have over performed and I’ve been quiet fair on them this year haha

May have been the case last night but surely if this was the case throughout the season Swans wouldn't have risen from second bottom on the ladder 2020 to fifth 2021 surpassing everyone's expectations. To do that takes a consistent team effort. Your bias is showing Chuck.

Good call and I guess we need to wait until Sunday night but Dogs Bombers SHOULD be the easiest game of the round to tip.

Swans were prime for a crash tonight. Young team, away from home for so long, pushing beyond limits and exceeding all expectations. Saints are hot and cold but when they're on they're very good, especially when close to full strength. And they were due for a huge effort tonight after their loss to Carlton last week. Not a bad thing for the Swans to have a loss, a breather, regroup and continue their assault on the finals. Down side is they probably need the double chance to go all the way and that is now gone. Also, they may meet GWS in an elimination final. Would be a great final but Swans will be hoping they can play Eagles, Tiges or whoever else may sneak in.

I think it’s more the inconsistency of youth and the decline of age. They’re still too reliant on elderly bulls like josh Kennedy and Lance Franklin to kick a winning score

The easiest game of the round to predict. Swans defensive midfield is terrible.

Credit to the saints. They owned that game, dominating the swans, and thoroughly deserved that win. The swans... well, the less said about their performance the better. Not a very good night

Saints pressure very good! Swannies their own worst enemy (maybe) and turning it over even when the pressure isn't there. Short kick passes completing missing the mark and turning attack into Saints goals.
