Sydney welcome back co-captain Callum Mills for their clash with West Coast at the SCG. Join The Roar for live scores from 4:35pm (AEST).
The Swans sit 15th with just five wins to their name and an almighty job to avoid becoming the latest team to back up a grand final thrashing by missing finals altogether the year after.
With Mills, plus fellow star Isaac Heeney and young gun Logan McDonald, back from injury, the Swans will be confident of turning around a two-match winning streak, though the Eagles do welcome back experienced defenders Liam Duggan and Tom Barrass.

I never mentioned St Kilda. You're right, they are screwed over regularly. The 9 teams that share Marvel and MCG get 6-7 games a year with true home ground advantage. Interstate teams get 10. Geelong get 9. What I was saying was Melbourne teams get far less of a home ground advantage. It is plain as day, unless you have an axe to grind. And you're right, come finals that may help as they have more experience on the G. Is this the right time to point out the Cats shunned games at the MCG to play more at Geelong?

You would think anybody who wants to become a senior coach longterm probs wouldn't take it as it could damage them beyond repair.?
Dean

I understand what your saying Peter but earlier this year the Hawks were tanking and anyone that played them was guaranteed 4 points. Things can change.

I only mentioned the VFL/AFL history due to the fact that is what competition we are talking about now. The WAFL and SANFL.have also had their share of poor teams. I just thinks it's a bit off that Peter is singling out the Eagles when there has been really poor teams throughout history.

Disagree, it definitely is a home ground when they are playing interstate teams. If the Pies play at the G 14 times and the Saints only 2 and they meet in the finals who has the advantage? The fixture will only be equal if all teams play each other twice which will never happen. The Hawks earlier in the year were considered tanking and if you played them it was considered a bye, don't hear that talk now.

Not a cats supporter PJ, just stating that the comp fixture will never be fair unless each team plays each other twice. There has always been bad teams and always will be. Luck of the draw l guess. It was only weeks ago that the Hawks were considered a bye and it was a guaranteed 4 points.

At the end of the Home and Away season I re-order the ladder by percentage to get a better idea of how teams performed. This year I will factor out all Weagles points, recalculate the percentage, and then reorder the ladder.

From News.com on the highest paid AFL players. Apparently there are a lot of Weagle players in the top 100. "Defender Jeremy McGovern ($1,000,000-$1,100,000) and midfielder Tim Kelly ($1,000,000-$1,100,000) come in at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively painting a clear trend that the WA based side has gone all-in following its breakthrough 2018 premiership under coach Adam Simpson."

Not many would jump at it, needs a strong personality like Hinkley and even nicks when they took the roles in SA.

It's difficult being top 2 nic, pies fan have supported a draw with greater integrity for some time

Read what I said. The Eagles were given a fairytale start with concessions that the WA Footy Commission brokered. Know your stuff.

Not a chance, this completely self inflicted and they won a flag not that long ago.

Who’s Harry? Are you trying to deflect? 262 points, there’s no deflecting that!

It's a hard call for the club. I mean it's a tuff job to take right now if they decide to move Simmo on.

That's the game l was thinking of when l said Sydney might get 300. Then, years later, Centrals won 9 Flags in 11 years or similar.
