The thing I find funny is McLure bangs on about standards where he played in an era where recovery was a pleasant Sunday at the social club.
One of my enduring memories of the 1981 premiership (may have been 82) was the cloud of smoke that followed the blues players as they carried the cup around the ground.
I wonder if all the flogs in the media with the criticism they direct at players will actually force players to flee the fishbowl of melbourne. It is becoming quite farcical really, just to create a talking point.I know the states with 2 sides can be just as brutal, but dont have the shows like melbourne television to keep the hounding going, perhaps us interstate teams should get the cheque books ready and buy a box of pens

That was mild for him. He's a bit of bore though.

82 created some painful memories for my 7 year old self. But other aspects of that match were um....... educational!

Good old bully boy. If he had more wit perhaps he could have been a shock jock. Rarely hear him say a positive word.
