He formed a good partnership in the forward line with Levi Casboult against Collingwood in a pre-season game,

I suppose 2 goals can be called "starring".

He is definitely a 300 game player and hopefully they are all at the Blues. There was a photo of him a couple of weeks ago without a top on and showing a 6 pack. He has definitely got stronger than last year.

laughing with you, but the boy Walsh did play well he looks bigger in the legs as well, guess he has put some extra K's into them over the summer, I think the Blues have a 300 plus game player.

Cracka, the Walsh comment was a bit of sarcasm to the people who said he was too young to be in the leadership group, so yeah lol.

“Apparently Walsh had a very good game early so doesn’t appear that being part of the Leadership group has affected him.” Yeah a practice in February would prove your point, lol, I hope the kid does well I went yesterday and had a look at both the Pies and Blues, both sides look to be blowing out the cobwebs, all the young kids looked good and going at 100% for both sides and a lot of the senior players looked as if they where going at 80%, couldn’t read to much into it, did speak to my mate Tony De Bolfo he did say Carlton had everything working off the ground and now they need the on ground stuff to come together. Carlton supporters should have High expectations as should Pie supporters.

The backline looks really good now with both Marchbank & SPS not playing we now have some solid depth. Apparently Walsh had a very good game early so doesn’t appear that being part of the Leadership group has affected him.

Yeah hard to read too much into it but it was a really good first step for the year by the sounds of things. When I did a "best 22" a month or so ago I didn't have Casboult, Newnes, Williamson or Philp in it and I think Jack was the last one picked - all of them were listed in the best on the clubs website, finally we are building so depth. I am a big Williamson fan (have the signed jumper to prove it) and I really hope he can have a great year - him and Docherty off the back flanks will give us an enormous springboard to launch off.

Macca, only a practice match but great to hear Tom Williamson dominated down back along with Doc. Also great to see Levi kick four straight goals and Newnes in our best along with Philp, the kid that some people said SOS drafted too early. Apparently Pittonet and TDK also had good games in the ruck.

The goals were nice but looking at the highlights there weren't many Carlton goals in the first half that didn't have an assist from Betts. His running patterns and energy also created a lot of space for others to work in as he dragged defenders with him.
