Kane Cornes' Collingwood prediction spectacularly backfires

By The Roar / Editor

It’s the nature of being paid to tell your opinion and when you get your predictions wrong you’re going to hear about it a lot more than when you get them right.

Former Port Adelaide player Kane Cornes has found that out in spades since Saturday night when he predicted the Collingwood Magpies were ‘just making up the numbers’ and had no chance against West Coast.

Not only has Cornes copped it from everyone from Collingwood but Channel 9’s Sunday Footy show panel also joined the pile on.

To Cornes’ credit he did take it all on the chin and gave the Magpies the credit they deserved for an outstanding victory in the west.

However, he couldn’t resist one further dig about how much the win has been talked up.

"The only thing worse than people talking about you is people not talking about you". He's a media puppet and he's not alone.

There was a well known Collingwood person who amongst other things rowed the Barwon in a bath tub and cleaned Swan St with a feather duster after his proclamations came back to bite him .So if it is good enough for Louie the Lip I think Kane Cornes can be let off this.one.

Yeah you’re right Richie, I gave us no chance. I think I’m guilty of having a crack at Cornes from past sins rather than this one.
