Pies definitely out but I can’t see how wce will miss the 8.
AFL trades 2020 report card: Every club graded
The 2 teams have vastly different game styles. The match will come down to who can execute their style for the longest. In the heat of battle within the pressure cooker that is a GF, one would think that Richmond’s style (being less complicated than Geelong’s) should be easier to execute. Having said that if Geelong are allowed to execute their plans (like in the past 2 weeks) they are almost impossible to beat. I’m hoping cats because of the romance around gazza and paddy but head says tigers. Should be a ripper game.
2020 AFL grand final: The ultimate preview
Obviously in isolation he’s not going to do anything but. But coupled with him going to ground in the first quarter and in other matches it starts to paint a picture of behavior. Culture and integrity aren’t borne over 1 incident or act hence we come down harder on repeat offenders and dismiss one offs
Dangerfield gets away with a BLATANT throw in goal assist
There are many examples of throwing; i agree with you there, many of which are just as blatant. Yes he did try handball but he didn’t. He chose, either consciously or subconsciously, to throw when his arm was pinned. He wasn’t the first and he won’t be the last. What is the solution? I honestly don’t know.
Dangerfield gets away with a BLATANT throw in goal assist
Did the throw affect the result? No. However, Dangerfield also went to ground far too easily in the first quarter trying to get the umps attention. These 2 incidents have lessened my thinking of Patrick as a superstar of the game. Actually it’s not the first time danger has gone to ground trying to milk or exaggerate free kicks; has happened quite a few times over the past few years. As for the throw, the win at all costs mentality might work short term, but what of his longer term legacy? Throwing the ball to get a goal because you think you might get away with it is essentially cheating. The world loves gilly for his integrity. If afl was a world sport I’m not sure the same would apply to danger.
Dangerfield gets away with a BLATANT throw in goal assist
I think the fact it’s a highly unusual circumstance that happens infrequently is a good reason to leave it be. If it was happening every other year then yes they’d need to look at it, but given it’s a rare occurrence I think it was a knee jerk reaction by the afl. By the same token the bye allowed the dogs to win in 16. No way would they have beaten wce in week 1 without the bye with so many players unavailable
Five talking points from the AFL preliminary finals
The pre finals bye must go seems to be the consensus and I agree. It was brought in as a knee jerk reaction following a historically unusual circumstance where 2 teams in one season rested players for the final round as their ladder positions couldn’t change regardless of the result. How often have we seen players out “managed” over the past few years? It happens most rounds after about midway through the season. It is no different just because it’s the last round. That’s why squads exist. Use them all and get over it afl. Player management happens in every other sport in the world.
Five talking points from the AFL preliminary finals
Unfortunately for port I feel like it was lost in the first quarter. They had most of the play but fluffed a few easy shots on goal. Could have easily built a 3 goal lead. They also butchered what should have been some easy entries in the 2nd half too through poor disposal. Kudos to the tigers though for hanging tough then taking their opportunities when they presented themselves.
Lambert's last-quarter strikes put Tigers into the decider
A port vs cats GF is my tip. Given it’s at the gabba it’ll be a fitting climax to a crazy year. Let’s hope it’s closer than 07 if that’s what eventuates!
Five talking points from the AFL semi-finals
Will likely just get a fine. Reckon it’d be a week if it was Toby Greene and the game he’d miss would be against a big Vic club
Is Tom Lynch in strife for kneeing Saints opponent?
Internal confidence is a good thing. Once out becomes external though it’s perceived as arrogance. Gotta have that belief in any sport
AFL semi-final forecast: Richmond vs St Kilda
Too many outs for the saints, would love them to make a great match of it but the smart money has to be on the tigers. Ratten is a super coach though so he won’t die wondering. Still can’t believe his shafting by Carlton 👎

Love it how it always comes down to the simple things 😂 right arm donkey drops off 10 paces 👍 and in the words of the great Eddie murphy from delerious; “anytime you see a black man in a wheelchair, he ain’t always crippled” 😂

That’s one of the funniest burns I’ve seen in a long time 😂 😂

You might be one of the very few brave enough to tip the saints Larry.

Ben Brown’s currency has certainly diminished over the past 12 months, so perhaps he can’t afford to be too choosy
Daniher nominates Brisbane as new club for 2021
I understand but it’s still a bit of a slap in the face for hipwood et al. Timing not great for the lions either given they’ve got a prelim next week. I reckon the winner of pies cats will get over the lions.

Only his pay demands within their salary cap

Would love to see the lions say “sorry mate, we’re good”, but if you’re that desperate we’ll pay you peanuts. Brisbane’s fitness team might be be able to keep him on the park as they have a good record

Haha not that I’m aware of, but I see where you’re going with that 😂

Pretty spot on. Moving the players on isn’t the issue; it’s the murky nature of how it was done and some of the things that have been reported to have been said and excuses given, especially throwing the leadership group into the conversation
Nathan Buckley's position may no longer be tenable
