Subtle exaggeration techniques working beautifully with the current trend to over Officiate.
Don't call too much umps... and every player should be trying to milk frees.
That's the foil that holds the glue together.
This way the pushes and scragging are shown up for examination and the umpire can see what's going on but doesn't have to call every thing. It's the umpires game to enhance or spoil as they see fit. It's up to them if they are the servant or the master.

Did you not see Gleeson run at him with his arms straight and then propel him over the line using said straight arms?
What's your definition of a push?
5 of the 8 Dog goals to 3/4 time were frees, and they were all 50/50 IMO. Arguably, they were ducking the shoulder to draw a high free, falling over mayo on a very light touch, walking under a tall man's shoulder with some mayo thrown in, skill error on out-of-bounds kick and the one highlighted here. Dogs ran over them, but umps could have been better.
For everyone's information, you're not allowed to push a player after he's got rid of the ball. In fact, you're not allowed to push at all. If this happened on the wing no-one would bat an eyelid. It's just poor discipline from Essendon - blame them, not the player being pushed or the umpires.
I thought the umpiring of high contact in the Port v Cats and Dogs v Bombers matches was pretty ordinary.
Some umpires seem to have a reflex free kick action on any player that falls down within one metre of an opponent.
I would like free kicks awarded to teams when an opposition player ducks and leads with the head.

Ump probably saw the push by Gleeson but didn't realise that wasn't what caused him to fall over. Terrible decision, but umpires make mistakes.
