No way. Those guys play a heavy contact sport where there is occasional and incidental contact to the head. Galen is about to engage in a combat sport where the primary target is the head and his opponent is one of the foremost heavy strikers in the world. Gallen is (generously) a semiprofessional who wasn’t even able to beat Barry Hall in his last fight. By comparison Hunt has fought some great fights against some of the best in the world over 20 years. The gulf between these two is massive and the fight really shouldn’t be allowed to happen.

Many people think Gallen is stupid because he thinks stupid thoughts and then voices those thoughts. For instance, see his comments in relation to Latrell Mitchell and Josh Addo-Carr earlier this year: 'The rest of society are getting a $1,000 fine for breaching these protocols. The players got that fine, they then a $20,000 fine,' 'So they are held 20,000 times more above the law than everybody else. How much more accountable do they need to be?'

There is a very real likelihood that Paul Gallen is going to die at the age of 39.

Confidence doesn't equate to intelligence. If you think he's lucid and descriptive... Put him side by side against a rugby or AFL ex-player and you see the difference.

I'm not angry at all. I was very interested in the basis of 'Gallen is stupid'. He did a lengthy presser back in October with Hunt, Tsuyu promoting this event and he was very lucid, descriptive, confident but fearful. Tell me he's not a nice man, certainly..but if you've got an informed current exemplified response to why you in particular think he's not smart I'd love to hear it.

there's about 7 billion who agree with you, John. Perhaps when Paul Gallen dies at 50 something, Souvalis might concede there's more to life than getting your brain walloped for a quick pay out.
