And I think the hardest place to hit a bloke is in the back pocket, I honestly believe that. So, he firstly said the 20k fine was too severe, now he's saying the 20k fine is the hardest place to hit the player, but will impact the club? And you see why we say he's stupid.

'A 39 year old man, who played 300+ games in as a prop forward, taking untold numbers of hit ups, tackles, accidental head knocks, concussions, whiplash etc etc wanting to then take up boxing?' He's been boxing professionally for 10 years.. undefeated.. prececded by 2 fights as an amateur whilst in the NRL ,he's not just taking it up now. He may be dribbling in 10 years but by the sounds of that no nothing comment you're already there.

Souvalis. It’s the same old big mouthed, self appointed know it alls, no bodies every time mate . They would appear to have deep seated insecurities, therefore they have to attack others who have achieved much in order to massage their own pathetic egos. That’s what Fraser would say anyway. You could have written a list of who would negatively respond to this article . Sad little people who have ( unfortunately) been given a voice through social media.

You've cherry picked, he actually went on to explain that 20-1 penalty difference as appropriate. In another earlier interview : It's disappointing. I do my best to stick up for players when I can because I know how hard it can be, "... they have broken protocols for everyone [else]. You can't go out and go on holidays, go out with 10 or 12 blokes riding motorbikes. "There's a bit of silliness in it as well, posting it on social media when you can't be doing it. They'll learn a couple of lessons, I think there will be monetary fines involved and the NRL will have to come down hard.' What's up ?

@ Souvalis He wants to box professionally so…..he’s stupid ? A 39 year old man, who played 300+ games in as a prop forward, taking untold numbers of hit ups, tackles, accidental head knocks, concussions, whiplash etc etc wanting to then take up boxing? Yes, he's stupid. "Does it worry me? No, I don't think about it at this point in time. Give me five or 10 years when I'm dribbling and maybe I might," Paul Gallen Yes, he's stupid. But, I concede he's not as stupid as those who thinks he's not stupid for doing it.

In the same conversation he expands : Gallen: "This is it, this is the line in the sand moment, it's here. It was stupid and it was idiotic, and they've been punished accordingly for it. What else do we want to see? I don't think suspension [is fair], because I think it punishes the clubs. And I think the hardest place to hit a bloke is in the back pocket, I honestly believe that."

No way. Those guys play a heavy contact sport where there is occasional and incidental contact to the head. Galen is about to engage in a combat sport where the primary target is the head and his opponent is one of the foremost heavy strikers in the world. Gallen is (generously) a semiprofessional who wasn’t even able to beat Barry Hall in his last fight. By comparison Hunt has fought some great fights against some of the best in the world over 20 years. The gulf between these two is massive and the fight really shouldn’t be allowed to happen.

Many people think Gallen is stupid because he thinks stupid thoughts and then voices those thoughts. For instance, see his comments in relation to Latrell Mitchell and Josh Addo-Carr earlier this year: 'The rest of society are getting a $1,000 fine for breaching these protocols. The players got that fine, they then a $20,000 fine,' 'So they are held 20,000 times more above the law than everybody else. How much more accountable do they need to be?'

There is a very real likelihood that Paul Gallen is going to die at the age of 39.

Confidence doesn't equate to intelligence. If you think he's lucid and descriptive... Put him side by side against a rugby or AFL ex-player and you see the difference.

I'm not angry at all. I was very interested in the basis of 'Gallen is stupid'. He did a lengthy presser back in October with Hunt, Tsuyu promoting this event and he was very lucid, descriptive, confident but fearful. Tell me he's not a nice man, certainly..but if you've got an informed current exemplified response to why you in particular think he's not smart I'd love to hear it.

there's about 7 billion who agree with you, John. Perhaps when Paul Gallen dies at 50 something, Souvalis might concede there's more to life than getting your brain walloped for a quick pay out.
