Australia aren’t just battling South Africa at the SCG – needing to take 20 wickets in three days of play, they’re starting to race the clock to secure their fifth consecutive Test win this summer. Join The Roar for live scores from 10am (AEDT).

An Aussie declaration is looming after two straight days of play were impacted by bad light in Sydney. Usman Khawaja finished Day 2 unbeaten on 195 – whether Pat Cummins allows him to reach his maiden Test double-century remains to be seen.

With the ball, spin twins Nathan Lyon and Ashton Agar will hope to coax some life out of a benign SCG pitch, while Cummins and the returning Josh Hazlewood will take the new ball. The Proteas have just one score in excess of 200 this series, but they’ll back themselves to do better here.

I'll come out of retirement then...as long as she is the same vintage as she was in Romancing the Stone.

How dare you suggest such an outrageous allegation! Shame on you! Kathleen Turner will captain the T20 team before Ashton ever does

He has a higher average than even the great Ben Dwarshuis.

Khawaja to be fined by the leadership group for public pressure on the skipper to let him get 200? Of course not, those days are gone. And he’s not Maxwell

There's also an Alan Davidson oval or park at Narara on the Central Coast . He was born into cricket as his uncle ( Wal Clifton ) I think played for West's- Sydney.

We haven’t scored enough not to have to bat again if South Africa can bat for the remaining time. So 3 less overs isn’t going to make much difference.

And I’m not counting Bradman. #1 George Giffen (and he played for my Norwood Redlegs) #2 Joe Darling #3 Clem Hill #4 Vic Richardson #5 Ian Chappell ——— At least 4 of them fought the man for the betterment of the team. They are amongst our very best leaders of men. ——— You can’t get as many good leaders from the other states. And as you can gather we’re a feisty mob in SA.

Interesting even if it was from Mo. I would have picked Love out as being one of the more inoffensive type of people.

There was a good point made (by someone?) that Michael Bevan could be considered one of the unluckiest ones. Peaked in his 30's but never got given more test opportunities. Michael Hussey on the other hand didn't debut until he was in his 30's and got a chance to have a lengthy career.

But we've had the best Test Captain's. We punch much higher than NSW on a per capita basis.
