Australia’s international summer concludes with a three match T20 series against the West Indies, starting off in the city of Hobart. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7pm (AEDT).
Australia have named a strong squad despite not having star quicks Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc available for the series.
David Warner is likely to play some of his final few international games on home soil in this three-match series.
For the first time this tour, the West Indies will be at full strength. There’s plenty of power in a line-up with Rovman Powell, Nicholas Pooran, Sherfane Rutherford and Andre Russell making up the middle to lower order, but don’t ignore spin twins Gudakesh Motie and Akeal Hosein. The pair have impressed in their international and BBL exploits, and will test the Aussies with quality slow bowling in the middle overs.
Prediction
The Windies have some belief in their T20 team, having won series against India and England since Darren Sammy took charge of the white ball set-up.
Shai Hope in their line-up allows the rest of the West Indian batters to go all out on attack from ball one, and on a likely flat Hobart wicket, you’d expect plenty of runs.
Expect a high scoring affair with the Aussies sneaking to victory in a last-over thriller.

MATCH SUMMARY: Australia 7/213 beat West Indies 8/202 by 11 runs Sixes galore at Bellerive Oval tonight. Both teams had outstanding power plays with the bat before losing the way in the middle overs. Unfortunately for the Windies, they lost the plot far too much to give themselves a real chance in the death overs. Expect another high scoring game for the second T20I in Adelaide. Thank you all for joining the live blog. This is Arnab Bhattacharya signing out before I come back for the second game of the T20I series. Goodnight
