Australia have put on a whopping first innings total, but know they need wickets early to retain their lead over India in the fourth Test. Join The Roar for live scores from 3pm (AEDT).
Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green’s mammoth 208-run stand was the cornerstone of the Aussies’ hefty first innings total of 480, and also the second-highest partnership ever recorded by Australia in a Test in India.
Both reached centuries, with Khawaja racking up a formidable 180, in the process breaking the record for the longest Test innings by an Australian in India.
However, while they are ahead in the game, it’s now Australia’s turn to toil on the lifeless Ahmedabad pitch. With six wickets from Ravichandran Ashwin making him the only Indian bowler to succeed, the Aussies could be in for a long day or two if they can’t make early inroads.
Resuming on 0/36, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will be keen to dish out to the Aussies exactly what they copped in the field for 167 overs.
If India can bat out Day 3 and well into Day 4, they will be nicely poised to capitalise on any wear and tear the pitch may endure on the final day.

yeah i think Boland instead of Starc would have been better

Without Bolo drying up an end the Indians will be pleased to take what's on offer from the spinners in a languid pursuit of nearly some runs. The name of the Indian game is Occupy. They'll pick ripe, low-hanging fruit from Starc in particular. ---------- The Indians will see a 2-2 series as a failure.

Righto, I will give that a go. Thanks for the recipe. Looking like a long day in the field :(

Toast has to be buttered within 4 seconds, strawberry, apricot, whatever jam, and pure cream, not thickened from the shop, but you could beat the cream. ------- My then wife, who came from NSW, had never seen it done before. I just said we do everything differently in SA.

I was neither the murderer nor the victim, for which I am grateful, but there was no Bolognese. However the unoccupied house down the hill burnt to the ground. Unauthorised pineapple pizza in a clandestine lab is the best bet.

Actually this stadium is a batting wicket .. OK we know that . Average first and second innings scores in the mid 350s ..Some notables tho ..Sri Lanka posting 760 runs vs India ..you heard that right ..And my own South Africa being carted for 76 runs..Both must have been a very good day for the bookies my guess.

Are we talking 150AUD or 150INR? If the latter, I'll take you out, pay for dinner and let you do whatever else you want to do...like play PS4, watch Netflix, or engage in a match of backgammon.

Nah, a good result for India. A series win will go down very well at home.
