Sri Lanka and Australia meet again for the 2nd ODI in a five-match series. Join The Roar for live scores from 7pm AEST.

The tourists went 1-0 up in the series after an impressive run chase with Glenn Maxwell the star, smashing a 51-ball 80 not out to guide Australia home by two wickets.

Injuries are proving to be a big concern though for Australia with Marcus Stoinis ruled out of the Sri Lanka tour and Ashton Agar unlikely to play any more games in the ODI series.

The Australian team will carry some surprise names tonight with a debut for spin bowler Matthew Kuhnemann.

Kuhnemann will play an important role alongside Mitch Swepson.

Mitch Marsh is also battling a calf injury meaning Australia’s all-rounder stocks are limited.

The bowling options will be an interesting for Aaron Finch to work out especially if the main bowlers cop some heat.

Mitch Starc is also on the sideline with a finger injury.

As well as Kuhnemann, Travis Head has been called into the squad making an early exit from the Australia A game.

If ever there was a chance for Sri Lanka to pile on the runs against Australia, it’s this match, but as we saw in Pakistan, the Australian depth is impressive and the fresher faces are more than capable of stepping up to the challenge.

Yes DL is a joke in most situations. The correct projections for this situation are as follows: Sri Lanka's 9 for 220 off 47.4 projected to a 50 over total of 222. Then Australia's par target is 190 with VBO 8 for a par score off 43 overs 7 for 190. Above par scores are 0 for 175 1 for 178 2 for 180 3 for 182 4 for 184 5 for 186 and 6 for 188. Below par scores to win off the 43 overs they got are 8 for 199 and 9 for 218.

The fact we need to rely on Maxwell is a concern in itself

But Swepson ahead of Boland?

Did you see the figures I sent you? The quicks out-performed the spinners in both sides. The pitch is secondary to the bowler.

yes i only watched the end of the SL innings after the footy ended (Go Tiges!), and those relatively easy runs and our impassive skipper, it felt like they might be bum-bitey an so it proved

Marnie 18 off 30 and caught again it's just not his format. give someone else a game - probably Mitchy if fit although this seems a bit like the 2019 world cup, batting practise for the test team

You were so quiet during the Pakistan tour and now we have one loss and you are digging in.

Which proves that Cummins and Hazlewood were the right selections

Maxwell let’s us down again :silly: Seriously though, we have a collective 400 games experience in our top 3, they all got starts and not one made the required 60-70 to get us home? In fact the entire top 6 got starts.

So you didn't think that wicket was a spinning deck?

Can't say the results are impressing me. The selections even less. The injuries would suggest simple fitness discipline has already deserted the team since the players have taken over the coaching.

Crock' O' Clock

Not to mention the state of the pitch and the Sri Lankan spinners. Aussies need all the help we can get. My understanding is DL is very statistical, which doesn’t really reflect well in reality.
