Sri Lanka have already claimed their first ODI series win over Australia in 30 years, and will now be aiming to head into the upcoming Tests on a high note with a 4-1 victory. Join The Roar for live scores from 7pm AEST.
The Aussies have been hit hard on the injury front, with a number of first-choice names racing the clock to be fit for the first Test next week.
Mitchell Starc, Steve Smith, Marcus Stoinis and Ashton Agar have all been ruled out of the match, while Travis Head will also need to be replaced after suffering a hamstring strain. The blows have seen Glenn Maxwell called into the Test squad as injury cover, despite not having played a red-ball match in nearly three years.
Sri Lanka, meanwhile, are humming along, having claimed three consecutive ODI victories over Australia, the latest a thriller by just four runs.
Spin has proved a problem for Australia this series, with Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage and Dhananjaya de Silva all menacing a batting order in which only David Warner has been a regular source of runs.

Really proud of the Aus team for committing to carrying through re this SL tour, following on from also sticking through the Pak tour in March. Plenty of other international teams have taken the easy (and lazy) way out of these tour commitments in recent times. Credit where it is due to this CA administration and the current crop of players for making it happen.

Finally. Bring on the Tests! Nice to see the support of the Lankan crowd for the Australians for actually committing to carrying on with their tour.

I wonder why Australia does not separate their test team from other formats. Too much dependency on Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins. Young players need to find their way. By the way, who is that Aaron Hardie playing for Australia A?

Well Australia has got quite a few free wickets today. So I would call it somewhat equalizing factor. From what I have seen, kusal mendis is going to be pain for Australia again in upcoming test series like he was last time along with Dhananjaya De Silva

Yep. 8 for 89 and these two are playing like Aravinda and Jayasuriya

Utterly embarrassing that these two are still batting. Yet again we fail to finish it off and now they’re going to post a tricky target.

Australia may as well use their reviews before play starts. Or just kindly decline the offer to review. "It's pitched outside leg by two feet, a bouncer that he hit before it struck his shoulder. Not out" "We'll review"

Important to take these final two wickets before the score increases too much Great bowling performance from Aus so far
