A spot in the grand final awaits either the Sydney Sixers as they tackle the Perth Scorchers/strong> in the Qualifier. Join The Roar from 7:15pm (AEDT) for live scores of the match.
Despite a late hiccup, the reigning premiers have been a cut above the rest of the competition all season to lock up a first-place finish. Despite losing two in a row late, the Sixers won their ninth game of the season on the final day to finish on top.
However, the Scorchers might just be the form team of the competition. After suffering three losses and a washout in their first four matches, Perth have gone 8-2 since to finish second and rocket into the championship conversation.
These sides split their two meetings in the home-and-away season, with the Scorchers winning by 86 runs in Perth and the Sixers getting up by seven wickets in Canberra.
First ball: 7:15pm (AEDT)
Venue: Manuka Oval, Canberra
TV: Channel Seven, Fox Cricket
Live stream: Kayo Sports, Foxtel

Agree. You are going to get tough decisions from time to time.... probably equalled out by the times you’re out but not given.

This many posts on one incident in meaningless hit and giggle T20 cricket... Ever considered some hobbies or developing a circle of actual friends in the real world?

Sorry to correct your clouded re- writing of history as always happens with this incident in the Roar- Broad edged behind and it was your flapper keeper that nudged it to slip. I’m fully expecting in 20 years time you telling people Broad carted it to long on and didn’t walk

How many intentional wides have you seen this season with one run to win a match?

I don't know what you have been smoking, but I would say it is the good stuff. What has that got to do with what happened tonight?

A little reminiscent of Hoggard’s non-wide to Gilchrist for the fastest century. Unless Tye was to admit it you have to give him the benefit of the doubt. But it sure is deflating.

Have you watched the Heat lose a game? Did you see the opening ball from Harmison in the Ashes 2006. From there the Poms lost 5-0. Now that’s throwing the towel in from ball 1. Unsportsmanlike behaviour or just a bad tour.

If you watch these T20 games long enough you understand control is rarely executed. It’s a slog, edge, shot gun pitch map affair especially at the death. I’m happily giving Tye the benefit for trying to get Vince to chase a short ball. How’s Brett Lee frequently bowling beamers at the head Supposedly attempting a Yorker? Ask Warne about his charity game.

We have seen poor umpiring all season. Totally different issue. How many intentional wides have you seen this season with one run to win a match?

Agree don’t bowl a half volley, and I’m fine if he was trying to get him out hooking or edgeing a short ball. But in my opinion that ball was over a head too high and should actually been called a no ball as it was so high. Surely for a professional cricketer they have to have more control then to bowl it that high with 1 one run to win unless it was deliberate. Which if so is poor sportsmanship isn’t it? Same as if someone is on track for the fastest test 50 or 100 to then bowl a ball so wide it isn’t hittable would be poor sportsmanship

You’re wanting a gentle full toss on leg stump like the Heat serve up I’m guessing? Tye might have been looking for Vince to chase a ball above his lid to hit it straight up or catch a glove to the keeper. Unsportsmanlike play is more like appealing to avoid a wide and then giggle about an umpire’s embarrassingly poor decision to give the batsman out.

Please.....Broad smashing Agar to first slip and not walking ring a bell?? English fans singing about Mitchel Johnson's mum?? Stop the ongoing Australia bad, everyone else good rhetoric. This will barely make any news in England.

Adam Gilchrist disagrees, he stated that AJ would not have done that on purpose. What's your thoughts, bat error or bad sportsmanship?

Deliberately? Not sure if you have watched Tye these last 3 seasons... he can be very expensive.

What i really dislike about the dismissal was the umpire seemed to be thinking "well, he may have hit it". It looked like a pure guesswork decision - erring on the side of the bowler. Huge consequences for the the batsman and sometimes the match, when umpires do that. Either you are certain he hit it, or you're not. If not, don't terminate the batsman's participation in the match based on "the vibe". Maybe he heard something, but still, fairly unconvincing as a reason to raise the finger.

How did Vince have the opportunity to get his ton with Tye bowling a wide bouncer down leg side? Most poor sportsmen would would do exactly that Tye did tonight, all the good bowlers with an ounce of shame would have made him earn his ton & try and bowl him out in the 90's. Even though the game was gone. How is this going to reflect on Australian sportsmanship with the English cricket fans watching this game back in the UK? Our form in recent years hasn't exactly been anything to be proud of.

Disagree completely. Deliberately bowling a wide or no ball is always poor sportsmanship. Batting for a teammate is no different than in any other form of cricket.
