Smith's decline can be traced back, at least in time, to his shameful attack on Maxwell before last year's ODI series.
They should all just shut up and enjoy life to the Maxi
Gee, 6 off 18 - I'd argue getting out was an astute tactical move from Finch.
What a dreadful shot. Reminds me a bit of when George Bailey was made 20/20 captain and almost immediately it became clear he wasn't up to a place in the side on merit, let alone as skipper
Yes I certainly agree, time is running out for Finch. If he doesn't make a score in the next game he will be feeling the pressure. I would still give him the 5 match ODI series in India next month, but he doesn't do well there then I can't see him retaining the captaincy and his place in the team.
We both know that Warner is an automatic pick at the top, then I think Smith will slot back in at 3, so that leaves Khawaja to either be squeezed out or open the batting where he belongs.
This is my Pakistan series/World Cup XI and squad.

Finch seriously needs a break from cricket. His form the last couple of months has been nothing short of disgusting. Just cause he's the ODI and T20 captain shouldn't me he is undropable.
It's a joke at this point.
This is a guy that a couple of months ago was saying Maxwell wasn't good enough to bat higher than #7 or #8 and "that's just reality at the end of the day".
Going into the recent SA series in November, Maxwell had scores of 34, 62, 31, 19 in ODIs. Scores of 18, 2, 52, 4 in T20i matches (T20 is a different beast not really relevant anyway). Don’t forget he’s a mid order batsman coming in late given licence to smash the ball.
How can anyone say with a straight face that there isn’t an agenda to marginalise Maxwell when they are demoting a 32 average, 120 strike rate to #7 based on those numbers. He went on to perform decently in the SA ODIs and T20s as well.
Finch is still getting a game, opening the batting.
How many series is he and Mitch Marsh going to cost us.

No S. Marsh? That’s ludicrous... With the exception of Warner (though not at the moment), he’s the first player picked.

Watto would have reviewed the decision as the stumps were still standing. Bring back Watto!
