Matty Wade won't want to see this replay of the way he got out

By The Roar / Editor

He got the nod to stay in the team but just before the new ball was due Matthew Wade couldn’t help but go after Ravindra Jadeja.

Hi U, Paine averages 32, played a game saving innings recently, is the best test keeper in the country and you want to drop him because the you think the other batsmen in the team aren’t good enough!!! Glad you’re not a selector. You give no support for your opinion. You also haven’t nominated a replacement skipper. Please think before you type, and hopefully add a useful comment next time. Comments like yours are exactly why I don’t usually participate in Roar discussions. Uninformed and unsupported comments are everywhere in this forum. Please lift the standard.

The umpire gave him not out.It was referred and was given not out.Tim Payne continuing to argue with the umpire is very poor form. His language was a disgrace and will have consequences.

With our poor batting, we need more consistent runs from Paine. Let’s face it, if he wasn’t captain, he’d have been dropped already

I think Wade earned some brownie points by filling in for Warner for 2 tests. Agree, it was not a good shot and was poor game awareness. However, had I been captain or coach, at 3/206 I'd have sent Green in ahead of Wade. If Green is going to be the great all rounder we hope for, he should be eyeing number 5. He top scored in the previous innings and had 10 more overs till the new ball. Wade is a player nearing the end of his career, at 21, Green needs all the exposure he can get.

Good to see Rob Quiney show player solidarity at Victoria and insist Wade was trying to keep that on the carpet. Hahahaha.

Brain explosion by Wade agreed. A little early to think he’s played himself out of the team. Selectors don’t normally make more changes unless they have to. If Wade makes some runs in the second dig he won’t be dropped. Wade and Head have not been great successes, but I disagree they aren’t Test player standard. Unless you only rate those who meet particular standards that aren’t defined. Tim Paine is the best red ball keeper in Australia , averages over 30 and captains the team. I think this makes him Test standard. If anyone wants to argue Paine’s keeping, as a Level 3 coach and keeper coach specialist, I’m happy to enter the discussion.

Wade is not test level and never has been. He should have been dropped like burns and head who also aren’t test level players. Paine is also not test level but we all know why he was brought back into the team as smith was involved in cheating.

Sorry Matty, but I reckon you might have played your way out of the Test side. Getting out to easily to shots like that in this series.
