Tim Paine: I still have 'unfinished business' as captain

By The Roar / Editor

Despite copping criticism aplenty as India trumped Australia 2-1, Tim Paine is adamant he’s still the right man to captain the team.

The comments on here are extraordinary. I watched every day of the 4 test summer and I would not drop Paine. He had a bowling attack that had played 10 days out of 13 and were just spent, it's that simple. If Starc is fit and takes 5 at the Gabba Paine is lauded for winning back the trophy and having a good series with the bat

No, it’s like changing the driver because he’s drunk and drove into a tree after hitting a cow.

Yep. He needs to squander the Ashes at home to complete his CV.

He is right about unfinished business. There are plenty of Test playing nations he hasn't lost to yet.

Losing two consecutive home series to India would mean you have a fair bit of unfinished business. At this trajectory Timmy the Tank would need 20 years to finish his business against India. I can't see Australia beating India in India for the next 20 years and will struggle to beat India in Australia as well.

No way would I drop Tim Paine now, just before the WTC and Ashes. That's like buying a new car because you got a puncture in the tyre

Is he reading from the same page as the NSW Premier after the Ruby Princess & Daryl Maguire “incidents” when she said “I’m doing a good job & not standing down”. Solution: Tim Paine to be installed as NSW Premier & Gladys to put on the keeping gloves. A smooth transition & nobody would notice the difference.
