Campbell try was one for the reel. Only made possible by great support to put the defence in two minds.

Reds win ugly over Rebels to keep top four hopes alive as big-name Wallabies forced off

I would like to see no penalty kicks from scrum infringements but understand why World Rugby would never go for it.

Scrums banned from free-kicks, 20-min red cards and shotclocks: World Rugby tries to speed up the game

I thought time wasting at the scrum was just a free kick.

> That should be mitigated by the first offence being a half arm

Which is a free kick. So no more scrum. Great to use in your 22.

And what about the shot clock… who gets the advantage when the scrum just fails to get its proverbial together?

‘shot clocks’ on scrums and no scrums from free kicks is an interesting one. An opposing team can use ‘mucking around’ to neutralise an opponents scrum dominance.

It means they are getting funding from Blackrock.

Is the world ready for Tupou playing skins?

Progress is slowly happening: What each of our Aussie Super Rugby teams must do to take the next step

I don’t think the shirts is the part that captures their mind. 😛

We could replace tap water with salt water. Melbournites only drink soy moccocinos anyway.

Progress is slowly happening: What each of our Aussie Super Rugby teams must do to take the next step

The solution is simple. Move the world’s greatest Rugby competition (the Shute shield) to the world’s biggest sporting market.

No way Melbournites wouldn’t go for that. Way more teams playing way more Rugby at a way better standard and right on their doorstep.

If that doesn’t work one might just start to think the world’s sporting captial moniker is just a bit of marketing BS.

You can survive without a world class 10. You cannot survive if you’re giving away a penalty every scrum.

The five candidates for the Wallabies No.10 jersey - and the old heads who may sneak in to join them

We have 10s. We may not have the greatest 10s ever seen in Wallaby yellow, but we have 10s that, if behind a good forward pack, surrounded by quality players on either side, can get the job done.

If we can’t win, a scrum, lineout, or even recycle our own ball at the breakdown cleanly… then it won’t matter who is 10.

I wouldn’t let Beale near the oranges.

I think you guys are looking at this the wrong way. We just need to score all our tries under the posts.

Duh!

Are you Kurtley Beale’s agent?

Wow was pretty certain we wouldn’t see JOC on the paddock this year. Could be his last game of Super Rugby.

Perhaps not his choice?

Why do we even need coaches?
Clearly not every team and player has access to the same level of coaching.

Australia's SRP sides may have fallen at trans-Tasman hurdle - but three signs point to a closing gap

I’m not sure I agree or think this is a fair criticism. Nobody likes losing and I don’t think anyone treats it as “just another day in the office”.

Morale is certainly a factor though and anyone who has ever played in winning and losing teams knows the effect repeated wins (and losses) can have on a team’s desire to front up the next week for more.

But to say other players in winning teams “want it more” is harsh. I’m pretty sure everytime Jake Gordon makes his “full credit to the opposition” speech he dies a little more inside. I’m pretty sure the Rebels are digging deep but how deep can you dig it you don’t know (but are fairly sure) your team won’t be around next year?

It’s a cheap shot to say that players don’t want it enough. I’m very sure they want to win however for many reasons beyond their own personal desires this is not happening.

Desire and passion only get you so far as well. It alone is not enough to ensure consistent high performance.

It's hard to tell if some of Australia's Super Rugby teams actually have a deep desire to win - or are they satisfied just playing?

Agreed. I’m sure they are all aware that physicality is an integral part of the game but the coaching hasn’t been able to bring it out cohesively.

It was actually Emirates not Qatar but same same.

Depends if you think Heineken is a decent beer.

I’m in the firm ‘no’ camp.

He had a flawless game in my opinion. Did everything right. Even the supposed ‘high tackle’ wasn’t even a high tackle and didn’t even deserve a penalty.

Five things: The Reds have flipped the script - and it promises to be rewarded at the Wallabies selection table

I take it you don’t actually watch the games do you? Because if you did watch the games you would see what everyone is talking about.

I don’t think the current version of Vunivalu could either.

He’s cooked. Physically, mentally or both.
