I backed Vow and Declare and was amazed at the way it kicked back when Master of Reality got in front 50 out from the post. Replays showed it was because of the interference. So I was very happy with the result but I think V&D would have finished third but for the interference. MOR definitely had him covered and I think Il Paradiso might have as well As you say, masterful ride from Williams. Jumped well, got him over beautifully so that despite the wide gate he had the prime position and then eased right off conserving energy without conceding position. Brilliant stuff !!!

Even missing the start by 6 lengths, with out the interference, Il Paradiso still would have won by a length going away ! A brilliant ride by Williams on Vow & Declare, and another ordinary Dettori effort, just ensured the Aussie horse home.

How far does Il Paridiso win by if it didn't miss the start?

Then again those who'd backed Il Paradiso might be thinking but for interference he would have won. I don't know if he would have won but I think he would have been at least second. Prince of Arran benefited from that interference though.

I lost a bit of money on Master of Reality being demoted, but lucky I didn't have a quinella! Feel sorry for the people who did!
