Round 24 of the 2022 NRL season continues this afternoon between the Cronulla Sharks and Canterbury Bulldogs at PointsBet Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 5:30pm AEST.

The Sharks have piled on more than 100 points over the last three weeks as they look to hit the finals in top form.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are trending in the opposite direction after a bright run mid-season under caretaker coach Mick Potter, and with blowouts becoming a trend in the NRL late in the season, this one could get ugly.

I got seats on halfway at shark park, would still have been more than happy to go to Allianz. We are shutting a lot of fans out, if we win next week - hopefully we put playing the game at shark park to good use and annihilate the opposition.

As a Sharks member I' certainly be happy for the game to be at Allianz. I think Sharks fans travel okay. And after two years of lockdown I think people are generally looking any sort of adventure and fun they can get. I think we'd get 20,000+ but the NRL can't deny us and allow the Panthers.

The shouldn't. Shark Park is under construction so only holds about 12,000. Meanwhile, the NRL has a brand spanking new 45,000 seat $800m stadium in walking distance to Central Station that will go unused. And PVL has the hide to cry poor over the NSW government reneging on the local stadiums deal.

Sharks defence has been great all year but very underwhelming in attack tonight, they didn’t want to work for the points…anyways just needed a win here but not a great performance with the ball - completion rate of 61% tells you that. Hopefully Finucane and Tracey back next week - Kennedy, Rudolph and potentially Katoa the week after. Nice send off for Fifita, onwards to September - Try to secure a top 2 spot in the last game. Up up!

They shouldn't. It's a finals match between two of the best teams and they're playing in a under construction stadium that holds 12,000 when they could play it at the brand spanking new $800m stadium that holds 45,000. PVL keeps crying poor but they're giving up how much in gate takings?

Now that Souths have Damien Cook missing for the last two games of the regular season they could face an uphill battle to stay in the top 8. Cook is essential to Souths success on both sides of the ball. In his last 2 games he has made 103 tackles and he helps Souths forwards to get over the advantage line. Havili is a bulldozer while Cook is a workhorse in defence and a maestro with the ball. I was confident about a win for Souths tonight until this late change in the line-up.

I’ve openly said that it should be at Allianz but the NRL put themselves in a corner the moment they said the Panthers could play at home in week 1… a mistake they shouldn’t have made and set the precedent.

Terrible play by the Dogs. Don't remotely look like scoring here.

WTF? The NRL have granted a Sharks home final if they finish second? As a neutral I probably would have gone to the new Footy Stadium to watch that match.

Mulitalo is super talented but geez he’s a goose at times… standing over a player and giving him a spray after he’s been hit high… absolute plonker move
