The St George Illawarra Dragons travel north to take on the Dolphins to complete Sunday’s program. Join The Roar for live scores from 6.15pm AEDT.
Front-rower Blake Lawrie has confirmed he is fine to face the Dolphins on Sunday at Redcliffe, after missing round one with a rib injury, and Luciano Leilua makes his return to the club following his drink-driving suspension.
The axe falls early on Tesi Niu, with new signing Jake Averillo straight into the centres alongside fellow recruit Herbie Farnworth. Isaiya Katoa also comes in for Sean O’Sullivan. Ray Stone (concussion) and Connolly Lemuelu (knee) are both out, Euan Aitken and Max Plath start.
The Dolphins can’t be any worse than the insipid performance they put up against the Cowboys while the Dragons are breathing fire after toppling the Titans. Dragons by 10

But at least watching them gives other fans a good laugh

Looking at this , anyone who hasn't drawn a line through them is kidding themselves. I don't need to see 50 points to know a rabble team when I see one.

That's what happens when WB tells you not to panic and that you really are good enough. Still a great coach after so much time at the top

Their fitness and skill level does not look up to NRL standard

Agree, but to be fair me getting a beer from the fridge would be a better love story than Twilight

As a Dragons fan there have been a lot of losses since Wayne Bennett handed the reins over to his Lieutenant, who shall never be named. I can wear these abundant losses much better if they try (I think "effort" is the buzz word). Tonight was soft as a freshly laid barker's egg and about as useful between the toes.

Yep that sort of poise is made for Origin.

Thanks very much for following the blog this afternoon. I will be down in Melbourne for the F1 next weekend so won't be covering any games. Hopefully Arnab can look after a few and I will be back to normal in Round 4

The Dragons were pinned down in their quarter for most of the game and never really looked like scoring. Once they lost control of the ruck, they were gone and Shane Flanagan has plenty of work to do in that area. They take on the Cowboys next Saturday at Jubilee and will be looking to bounce back at home.

No Nikorima, No worries! Fantastic game from the Dolphins today after last week’s efforts. GO PHINS!!!

Not yet Tony please. Was not looking good there at the end, but early days. Cost me a full book in the tips, but us Saints supporters are used to that

The Dolphins turnaround in a week has proved nothing short of amazing. They played straight, controlled the ruck speed and took their chances as the Dragons defence got tired. It was quite simple but extremely effective. It was effectively a 4 point round for the Dolphins as they have the bye next week

Hammer's form did a welcome 180 deg turn, Herbie found top gear, Fleg is a ball-playing prop, JMK was awesome, Bostock showed some great stuff.

Well done phins, you deserved to keep us to zip, Wayne has turned that on its head. Dragons tried hard but you didn’t let us into the game and it was unrelenting. What a difference a week in football is.

The dragons should sack the coach. This performance is not acceptable. Time for some new ideas.
